Temari is Gaara and Kankuro's older sister. She and Kankuro fear Gaara and will not question his decisions. She was first seen in the Chunin Exams. She and her team made it to the final round. She mercilessly beat Tenten and had to go up against Shikamaru. She was doing pretty good until Shikamaru got her with his shadow. However, he gave up at the last minute because "It was a drag". She was also apart of an alliance between the Sand and Sound villages to take down the leaf. The treaty was broken when it was discovered that Orochimaru killed her father who was also the leader of the village. It has been implied that she has a crush on Shikamaru

Temari has the power to control the wind by means of a giant fan that she carries. She also has a summoning jutsu that allows her to summon a one-eyed weasel.
