Like I said in my other thread:
It's possible the mutagen is from an alien source and falls upon the four turtles / rat... and not "hey, there's an alien race that looks just like the TMNT."
Also it could be that Bay just saw this movie and decide to stole the idea.
Yeah, Aliens and Ninjas.

Hopefully Bay reads this and steals your idea. Four our childhoods' sake let the man steal your idea!
@DeathpooltheT1000: I somehow doubt that, especially since aliens / inter-dimensional beings have become a big part of TMNT lore and one of the creators (they didn't say which one) is connected. I agree if it's what we're all assuming, then it's a unnecessary change, but we're all jumping the gun and should wait until we at least hear more than a single sentence about this.
And if we're getting technical, quite a few forms of media have the mutagen as created by aliens. Just sayin'.
Alien planet of turtles? Silly idea, but I'll wait to hear more.
Turtles transformed via alien technology? No gripe with that.
@ssejllenrad: LOL.
At least i hope they dont ude the crappy CGI movie, i mean the only good thing about Bay making the filmd is that he likes Martial Arts movies and hires Martial Arts stunmens for the CGI.
So at least the Martsial Arts scenes are safe from Hollywood crappyness.
@cattlebattle: @ssejllenrad: @Mr. Dead Pool: @k4tzm4n: Did any of you saw the video?
Is pretty much Nolan doing the TMNT movies.
I dont understand why to change the origin from the Original movie?
Most of people know this origins, anything else will make people get confused.
@DeathpooltheT1000: It's not really fair to take a short fan film and say that's how an entire movie should be. It's basically just one fight scene. Is it done well? Yes. Could that team go on to make excellent work? It's possible. But again, we're talking about just one fight scene. That's not what's upsetting people here. It's the origin story. How would you feel about that same video if it began with the subtitle "this Turtle is an alien?"
@Rowen545: I share your concern, but I'm waiting to hear/see more before jumping overboard.
I'm hoping "from an alien race" means the mutagen is from alien technology, therefore when it mutates these turtles, makes them "alien" in his opinion.
Even if this isn't the case and there is in fact just a planet of TMNT looking dudes (albeit as silly/unnecessary as that may be), I'll still wait to at least see a trailer / interviews before decided whether or not I should see it in theaters.
Honestly, I was never one for the "ruins a franchise / my childhood statement." All of the old material still remains for us to enjoy and we can disregard the current. After all, I've done that for a few comic characters ;)
@k4tzm4n: I'm also not somebody who automatically hates something just because it changes. The turtles have been pretty low key for awhile, so changes were coming. I just always felt like the origin wasn't the problem, its actually what had always been one of the strong parts of the series. I agree if the ooze is some sort of alien chemical I could role with that. I also really like the designs they have been showing. That said other than The Rock I really have not enjoyed his movies, even those he has only produced.
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000881/
So maybe this will be the time he does well but I have little hope
I know that the ooze that mutated the turtles was made by aliens, but expecting for Bay to respect the source material of the comics is impossible considering how he treated the Transformers series.

That was wicked!
On a side note, that girl was cute! :P
Finally, some one that watched the video.
@DeathpooltheT1000: Wasn't that the purpose of including a video? Who made the video and is there more of it?
@aztek_the_lost: Let's just rename it.
If they're from an alien world, let's just assume they're young, so "teenage" stays.
Mutant is a no go. They're aliens.
Ninja? Space ninjas seems off. Let's just call them warriors.
And they're not turtles. They're aliens.
So...I present to you, the new TMNT:

Saddly, many guys came here to talk about the fact, Bay decide to make the Turtles aliens.
Also, the guy is trying to get money sio he could keep making others, for what i see the costumes arent cheap ones.

You know it would be TANT
To be honest, i am sure they are going to Call it AMNT, becuase teen heroes dont sell.
Alien Mutant Ninja Turtles.

@DeathpooltheT1000: True enough. The costume looked good, definitely not cheap.
Yeah, it looks like they spend most of their money in that costume.

Not entirely. The cinematography and direction were well done.
@Deranged Midget: Well yeah, but i actually meant that the turtle costume looks more expensive that the rest of the costumes

Aliens with Ninja Skills = Siths.
Aliens with Samurai Skills = Jedis.
So....
It mean Bay ia making TMST.

I agree with you here. Since it was that was the original concept in the older comics wasn't it? Alien created ooze, they could run with that on Earth turtles. I personally think a lot of people are having a crap fit for no reason and making presumpturous assumptions. I have a feeling it'll be good or decent at least. Or at the very least better then the 3rd and 4th movies.
@Vaeternus: Thanks. It sounds like you'd feel at home in this thread:
He's too big in that fan video. I'll go see TAWA twice if they're the right size. Five foot tops and thats about half a foot to tall.

So you dont care if a movie suck, only if the character is from the right size?
