Together Agian for the First Time

After being ambushed at the end of the last issue (issue#3) Raphael and Casey are ready to kick ass!

    Good:

    *spoilers*

As always we start with the action right away with a gang fight. casey gets knocked-out, and just when it looks like its curtains for Raph, Hobs is stopped from pulling the trigger- by three ninja stars! Leo Don and Mikey are on the scene to help their long lost brother. Raphael is beside himself as he seems these new turtles enter his world for the first time (that he can remember). Next is Hob and Raph sluggin' it out mono-e-mono. Leo has to intervene, before Raph kills Old Hob with his bare hands (should I refer to them as hands or claws?). Casey wakes up and is alright, and the turtles go home. Master Splinter has tears of joy when he is reunited with his lost son Raphael, and embraces him, on the last panel for an awesome feel good moment :D

    Bad:

Splinter has made the back story a little more confusing (for both me and the turtles) by implying that they have always know each other. But this just makes me want to come back and read the next one ;)

    Verdict:

    Fantastic!

I am happy to see one of the original creators Kevin Eastman to participate in this issue. Dan Duncan seems really familiar with the original comic book and stays true to the art style. These Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are dark and gritty and really come with that street slang. It’s well written and the panels are ...

This book is everything that a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle book should be. This issue is loaded with great action that is well written and perfectly fleshed out by Dan Duncan’s gritty art style. This Ongoing series has all of the awesome feel of the original Laird & Eastman comic from Mirage studios in the 1980’s with a kickass new origin. Some many questions that I can’t wait to see answered. We get some added depth to Old Hob and get a chance to see what drives him, and some further looks ...
