The family is whole once again!
The Turtles' vacation is cut short; no thanks to the Foot Clan!
The Good
This was a decent issue. The Northampton story arc has been interesting. It's given the characters a chance to rebuild their broken bonds; as well do fieldwork for the next story arc. Sure it hasn't broken any new ground, but still writers Kevin Eastman Bobby Curnow, and Tom Waltz did a great job at making this an enjoyable experience. However, now it's time to kick the Turtles back into action!
This story was a good kick to get this story arc to close and to being the next one; because it had the Turtles fighting -- obviously. The fight was well handled, however the circumstances of having to finally get the Turtles out of Northampton and back to New York was kind of mediocre. Because of it, it took away from the Turtles fight against the Foot Clan. You can tell by this issue's story that the writers needed to apply a bit of pressure to force the Turtles from their comfy retreat.
While that does sound a bit bad, which it is, I will say that seeing Leonardo snap out of his questioning state was handled well. The writers have finally placed Leo back in the state of leader and he no longer wonders if he belongs on the team. So seeing how his dedication to protect his family outweighed his conflicting Foot implanted thoughts, it made the grounds for a decent story/fight.
The artwork by Ross Campbell with colors by Amanda Pattison was great as usual. They really have done an outstanding job with this entire story arc.
The Bad
The fight didn't seem as epic as I was hoping it to be. The circumstances of the story made it fly by way too quickly and I couldn't really enjoy the awesomeness of the turtle's fighting the foot. Other than that, it was a decent issue.
The Verdict
The Turtles are done running and are now going to pursue the Shredder and the Foot Clan to finally end them! I'm sure the following events will be pretty amazing in the coming issues. This was a decent issue with a great story, but the circumstances of the story took away from the massive fight the Turtles' had with the Foot Clan elites. Overall 4 out of 5.
