The turtles peace and quiet is about to come to an end!
The Good
I'm glad the story is moving forward. This Turtles series has taken some interesting turns. Kevin Eastman and company have done a great job at creating a Turtle team that is relatable and partake in outstanding stories. With the fall of City Fall, the Turtles are still in the country repairing wounds and lost connections. So far we've seen strong character development between the team and as well new member, Alopex. However, all peace and quiet has got to come to an end. Especially with The Foot finding the team!
I like the direction that Kevin Eastman and company are going with this story arc. The writers have given the Turtles time to bond and whatnot, but it's time to get them moving again. That's great. If this story arc went on too long, it would start to feel endless and the Turtles sort of playing house. However, a quick kick in the pants puts everything back to normal. I'm also glad that the writers built up that the Turtles were going to get ambushed. As we had already got a couple of glimpses of the Foot coming closer-and-closer to finally take out the team. So it was good to be reminded in those other issues, so when it eventually happened, it wasn't something sudden or mismatched.
The artwork by Ross Campbell and colors by Ronda Pattison is amazing! The nature element of this story arc is really highlighted through their combined efforts.
The Bad
While I'm glad that the quiet, or house, aspect of this turtle story arc is over. I wouldn't have minded if it went on for at least one more issue. Things were really moving forward for the April and Casey aspect of the story and it would've been interesting to see that aspect looked at for just one more issue before the Foot attacked. However, though that part would've played backseat to what the turtles was doing, it would still be cool to see the progress on that.
The Verdict
The turtles are in trouble now, lets see how they will get out of this one! 3 out of 5!
