    Never Gonna Let You Down

Man, the title of this review is exactly what I think of this series:it never lets you down. The writing is so good, the story so intriguing and the art, save for a few issues is always good. Issue 17 holds true to that course.

The brothers 4 are preparing their new home after the battle in the last issue. Things seem good but at the same time a few of the brothers are going through personal turmoils which is simply amazing to watch. Michaelangelo having more depth than the party dude? We see him struggling with a personal hurt and it makes him so much more than he has always been. Leonardo continues to question things, not knowing if he is in the right. Another new experience for the character and I have to say it's fun to watch. It is great to see the Turtles going through human problems, though on a grander scale. Splinter sees this and puts things into action. Its a fantastic story and I can't wait to see the results of the last page.

Issue 17 also gives us a new artist with the coming of Ben Bates at the drawing board. I really like his art so far, it feels like a good marriage and if he keeps to the book, we could see him doing great things once he has some experience with the characters. Again, can't wait to see whats to come.

Buy the heck out of this issue. There isn't an issue of TMNT that I wouldn't suggest you buy and to that the book holds true.

Checking In With the TMNT World 0

ReviewWhoa, art change! Yes, I was looking forward to it, and Bates does a good job of getting things done better than the last artist. Bates' style is very similar to one that Duncan had so many issues ago, but with a hint of an anime style of flare. For the start of the next story, we get a check in on everyone's status. There isn't much from what is being said that old readers wouldn't already know. One thing that did catch my eye was that Shredder stated that they needed more of the ooze in o...
