Would You Buy This Teen Titans Book?

#1 Edited by Captain13 (3331 posts) - - Show Bio

Writers: Gail Simone/Mark Waid

Penciller: Pasqual Ferry

I want it set outside of DC/DCnU continuity, so that the characters can grow to be their world's premier heroes. They could have a real opportunity to surpass their mentors. It would have less creative oversight, which allows better/more interesting stories. It would allow the Titans to get their history back.It would also allow mentors and friends to be killed off without enraging fans. Tim is still Robin in this continuity. Every hero is a legacy character.

The Book Would Be Called Titans Instead of Teen Titans. This would allow room for growth without a title change.

It has Tim, Bart and Connor in, I would. Guy would be a strange one since he's not a teen.

Guy would be a teen in this world.

Guy as a teen would be cool. He's already awesome.

Nope. I'm not big on Calafiore's art, and Simone has been with some pretty s##### books post-relaunch. Mark Waid's great, but for me he's really hit or meh. I hate the idea of Guy being a teenage sidekick to Hal. Mia and BB should also be full-time members, and Apache Chief/Long Shadow and Bombshell are lame. I've also never been able to get into ongoings that take place outside of continuity (Batman Beyond), I guess continuity is sort of like my incentive to care. Not meaning to sound like a critical a######, but those are the reasons I wouldn't buy it.

Yes if Waid's involved.

I like the roster but I'm not big on Simone

If I had to pick my dream writer for a Teen Titans book then it would be Geoff Johns....he's been the best Teen Titans writer since George Perez and the only writer where the characters had actual development outside of Yost and Nicieza's runs on Red Robin

Although if You don't mind me saying, their are better choices for Hal's protege.

Who?

#14 Posted by Avenging-X-Bolt (13184 posts) - - Show Bio

Helen Jordan (Hal's niece from his Spectre series), Kyle Rayner, Arisia, Air Wave, Kai-Ro (he was Hal's foster son in the old cartoons) just to name some.

your a genius

but let go the idea that the Batmans/Supermans of the world will be surpassed they will forever be in the forefront of the universe

like the idea of Static being Black Lightnings sidekick, he is a major fan...but will be stronger someday would be nice to show him the way to be great as we know he future is

Gardner is great as a teen, head strong/brash/raw...ring is usually sparkling when not being used..great to give him the GOAT Lantern as a mentor

this Aqualad is pretty cool but why not Garth, anyway don't mind him wish Aquaman still had the lady of the lake hand so they both could control water

Rocket as Icon should be a prominent character soon

Wind Dragon is great for Red Tornado, although a android doesn't need a sidekick

but Long Shadow doesn't fit with Hawkman, before she is introduced make Hawkgirl a teen

Long Shadow and Atom would work out, I really don't like bumblebee

and hopefully the Marvel family isn't introduced

but Kid Devil, no longer Kid just Red Devil if they are the Titans..sidekick of Blue Devil(although Blue Devil and Black Lighting will be teaming up supposedly)

Cybrog doesn't have a sidekick

If we're putting a team together.

Writer: Chris Yost & Craig Kyle

First Story Arc Artist & Covers: Dustin Nguyen

One off story written by Neil Gaiman and art by Joshua Middleton

Second Story Arc Artist & Covers: Dan Luvisi

Another one off story written by Grant Morrison and art by Frank Quitely

Third Story Arc Artist & Covers: Clayton Crain

Then it'll continue with Dustin Nguyen as regular artist with Luvisi and Crain doing alternating story arc covers.

Team:

So yeah, that'd be a dream. Be more of a dream with the likes of Ed Brubaker, Brain K. Vaughan, Geoff Johns, Marv Wolfram and Paul Cornell doing the odd one shot every so often.

Might.

@Captain13: Jim Calafiore? Absolutely NOT.

I like the roster minus Bombshell though. And Long Shadow is NOT a Hawkman legacy. I don't know where you got that.

@Captain13: Love the concept, but from the edits, I'd still add Blue Beetle for a tech edge.

Excluding the team, the rest of it is perfect, fantastic creative team choices.

@Backflip: I purposefully left Blue Beetle and other tech heroes off so that Robin would have more to do. Ever since Cyborg came on to the Justice League, Batman has felt useless to me. I didn't want that feeling repeated. But if Beetle were included, he would be a nice replacement for GL--extraterrestrial tech and all that.

Also, nice roster btw.

Nice choices! Now I'd buy it haha

@Backflip: Actually...I'd like Black Alice in the team.

Sounds good, I'd buy it.

I like Mark Waid quite a lot as well so it would be good.

Cyclone is a Red Tornado legacy if you want to add her, Stargirl is also the inheritor of the Starman legacy.

I would just like to see a good series with Tim Drake...not the abomination Lodbell has created. Lodbell's Tim is a boob.
