I've just read the Teen Titans wiki and was disappointed that TTG wasn't cannon in the DC universe. I feel that they lost potentially good heroes and villains, many of which I liked very much such as Brother Blood and Control Freak. Does anyone else feel it should be cannonised?

@zombiemowlcher: Brother Blood is a character. The thing about Teen Titans Go is that is was intentionally set in a different universe...the Teen Titans and their enemies are usually pretty grim, it would have been horribly damaging to canon to make the TTG series well....canon.

Technically all of DC's stuff before the New 52 is now non-canon.

Well the TTG comic and the cartoon was toned down from the NTT source material to keep it kid friendly and to keep it out of legal problems.

-Deathstroke the Terminator, not a kid friendly name and easy to mix up with the robot, boil it down to his first name Slade and add Ron Pearlman and you have all the menace you need.

-Raven's conception involves satanic cults and rape, still probably happened in the cartoon U, but it was just left unsaid.

-Starfire's time as a prisoner, equally horrendous, but it was boiled down to a 'Is not nice.' comment from her.

Similarly the comic Brother Blood had to be toned down from the cult-leader that fed failing minions to his monsters into a softer version, as in the 'evil headmaster' of a school. Some characters however were taken directly from the books and added to the show, Trigon for instance saw very little change, neither did Mad Mod or Ding Dong Daddy because they were from the first generation of Teen Titans and already kind of silly to begin with.

All that said, it is quite possible that the characters invented for the show will slowly migrate into comics. Cinderblock for instance made an appearance in the Beastboy spotlight issue of Titans. Mas 'n Menos appeared a few times. And apparently Lobdell is planning on breaking the glass and have Tim Drake become Red X (as an evil persona) if covers are accurate.

But I dont think we should expect the likes of Kitten, Tofu Bob, the Source or that thing Blackfire ended up getting married with to show up any time soon :)
