Someone dropped these pages into our email box this morning and we couldn't believe our luck! Sure, they look like the work of TEEN TITANS artists Brett Booth, Norm Rapmund and Andrew Dalhouse... but could these be the actual unlettered pages from TEEN TITANS #7?!

We went to long time Comic Vine fan (and occasional contributor) Scott Lobdell for confirmation. And, okay, maybe a few hints about what it is we're looking at.

Comic Vine: Scott, are these pages authentic?

Scott Lobell: I'm not sure if I should say this or not on the record, but -- yes, those are pages from TEEN TITANS #7! I can tell you one thing, though, that as amazing as these pages are...the rest of the pages that make up this story are even more exciting! Honestly, Brett and the guys have pulled out all the stops to make Teen Titans one of the most gorgeous and energetic books on the market today!

== TEASER ==

CV: We know from the solicits that the Teen Titans go head to head with N.O.W.H.E.R.E. in order to rescue Superboy. Is that why Bunker and Skitter seem to be leaping into a nest of N.O.W.H.E.R.E. soldiers?

SL: Exactly! And I couldn't be more proud of the two of them! They may be be new to the whole super hero thing, but in their own way they are both committed to the Teen Titans, suicide mission notwithstanding. (I have to say this for Bunker, though, despite the odds against him he still hasn't lost that smile! Judging from Skitter, Miguel's enthusiasm must be infectious.)

CV: Kid Flash and Red Robin on a New York Bridge after hours, apparently testing Bart's powers after his near death experience last issue. Got all that. But what is he holding in his hands in that panel?

SL: Well, I don't want to give away anything important, but -- as near as I can recall the plaque says something about the tired and the poor.

CV: So nearly destroying Times Square and Central Park, and cutting a battleship in half wasn't enough, Kid Flash is now vandalizing national parks?

SL: Kids!

CV: On the next two pages we see Red Robin in all his leadership goodness, trying to make a sale to the Teen Titans to go save Superboy?

SL: You're good! You should be an editor! Or at least an inspector for Scotland Yard!

CV: You're changing the subject.

SL: I will just say that, yeah, Tim's pitch doesn't go over very well. You have to remember, the first time they met Superboy he beat them pretty severely and left them for dead. While Tim is willing to forgive in order to accomplish the greater good of taking down N.O.W.H.E.R.E. with Superboy's much needed help -- the rest of the team isn't convinced its necessary.

CV: While we have you here, can you confirm whether or not Static Shock is going to be joining the team?

SL: Well, I know it was announced at the Florida Con, but to be honest it was the first I had heard about it. But although the membership is already high on the team, nothing would make me happier than Virgil joining the Teen Titans!

CV: And Raven? A few months ago you mentioned she'd be in the books right about now. Can we assume the crossover has delayed her arrival?

SL: Something delayed her, but it wasn't the crossover! It turns out DC has much bigger plans in store for the character and when you hear what they are you'll understand why she's too big for our little book!

CV: I guess we could spend the rest of the day asking about once and former Teen Titans?

SL: Yes, but lets talk about my burning envy of Howard Mackie! He gets to use Fairchild, Terra and Beast all on the same team, THE RAVAGERS -- with Rose Wilson in hot pursuit! No fair! No fair, I say!

CV: Anything else you want to add?

SL: Just that I want to apologize to all the ComicViners I disappointed by not answering my last round of "Scott Lobdell Wants Your Questions -- the Holiday Edition"! I had the best of intentions, but I've been so overwhelmed with work lately -- if Editorial knew I was running around giving interviews all over town instead of writing... oh, the trouble I'd be in!

CV: Well we certainly don't want that. But we are looking forward to getting those questions asked someday! Until then, thanks for clearing up the mystery about these Teen Titan pages.

SL: You're more than welcome! And keep in mind, Brett and the rest of the art team has skipped ahead past issues 8 and 9 to work on the Annual! So if you're as blown away as am by these pages.... you're going to pass out when you see the first chapter of the Culling crossover!

Still waiting on a real artist...

#2 Posted by Arevish (302 posts) - - Show Bio

@Mbecks14: Why? The art doesn't look so bad

#3 Posted by Or35ti (1101 posts) - - Show Bio

I wonder if not buying Teen Titans was a mistake...

#4 Posted by TDK_1997 (14427 posts) - - Show Bio

I like the artwork but it doesn't work well on the Teen Titans for me and it is bugging me off.

#5 Posted by Bestostero (5616 posts) - - Show Bio

I like the art too... but yeah...looking forward to see when and where Raven will pop up...

#6 Posted by ReVamp (22863 posts) - - Show Bio

My comment didn't register.

I was saying that I agree that the Art is getting kind of tedious, sort of like Land... Still a good book.

I've been trying to get into this book, but I just can't. I feel like this is a book that came out 20 years ago. It has a 90s feel (both art and writing), which makes the book feel dated and irrelevant to me. I really like Lobdel's stuff when he was doing the x-men, but I can't get into his titans stuff. Which sucks, because I love Tim. Also, it is just me or does everyone in this book have the same face?

#9 Posted by Outside_85 (8015 posts) - - Show Bio

While my interest is peaked on the Raven news...I dearly hope this is not the Wally/Donna kind of plans of nonexistence.

Btw Scott will be happy to hear I havent waterboarded him for the past three days.

@Arevish: scoff, not to be an art snob, but look at Brett Booth's work. really look at it. It's not good. Granted, it has improved. But his faces are terribly drawn, he can't draw proportionate or correct anatomy. He can't draw hands. His poses are completely based on fiction. I can respect an artist having a particular style, and a lot of the time artists can get away with being cartoony and unrealistic, but you can't straddle the line like this. This is bad art. I'd nitpick but i've done it before and it's exhausting. Look up his art, compare it to a regular human body or almost any other artist.

Every person's going to have different taste in art styles, and I'm not saying he's hopelessly untalented, but i know art and I don't see it here.

it irks me to see people like this getting work when there are much more talented people out there, not getting work. Myself included.

@KainScion: THANK YOU!

Ew. This art looks like mid-90s Image comics. Ew.

I like this series but i HATE the artwork -_-

#14 Posted by jsphsmth (1136 posts) - - Show Bio

Great story and great art. Until Lobdell came along, I never would have had Superboy on my pull list.

#15 Posted by GothamRed (2562 posts) - - Show Bio

so terra and beast boy are coming back, on the Ravagers?

#16 Posted by BlackArmor (6134 posts) - - Show Bio

Don't get why people complain about the art, I like it. I'm really looking forward to TT in the coming months. Still a liitle bummed about my question not being answered though.

#17 Posted by BatWatch (2350 posts) - - Show Bio

@Arevish: It's not horrible, but it is a bit slick and angular for my tastes. Look at the picture with the whole group together. Everybody's faces look off.

I'd rather get a new writer than a new artist though. This series is booooring. I'm only sticking with it because Tim is awesome.

#18 Posted by Arevish (302 posts) - - Show Bio

Btw, I don't read Titans, I read way more Marvel than DC not my problem if the art sucks or the series is boring xD

#19 Posted by stu (378 posts) - - Show Bio

i might pick that up! i also really like the art

#20 Posted by Ganthetsward20 (687 posts) - - Show Bio

Sure but he says here she hasn't appeared yet because she will be up to bigger things so I don't see why she cant be introduced in JLD

Lobdell confirmed in an interview a few months ago that she will be in the Teen Titans.

If I remember correctly, he said he was going to be writing her, not where she was going to be (Red Hood has more nods to her than TT atm). Also Booth said within the last week or two on his twitter that she at least was not debuting in TT.

@Outside_85: I stand corrected.

#29 Posted by redbird3rdboywonder (3816 posts) - - Show Bio

What's wrong with everyone's cartoonish face. Also most likely Raven will have soe connection to Pandora at least I think

#30 Posted by Outside_85 (8015 posts) - - Show Bio

@jsphsmth: That she could, but so far we have no idea if she is even in TT's age group.

#31 Posted by Dedpool (292 posts) - - Show Bio

I like Kid Flash's new costume!!!

#32 Posted by jsphsmth (1136 posts) - - Show Bio

@spiderbat87: I missed the part about Raven in the interview. It looks like plans changed, so you are probably right. Lemire did say that their would be three new members on the team (plus hinted at a rotating cast). Bennet and Black Orchid are on the cover of issue nine of the JLD. That leave one spot open.

#33 Posted by frozenedge (1122 posts) - - Show Bio

I like the art since I'm not so picky about things like that. I do need to catch up since I haven't read everything. Waiting to see Raven and the Ravagers in action too

#34 Posted by Skaddix (3109 posts) - - Show Bio

Well the idea that Raven will get retconned as Darksied's daughter gains some validity. Interesting.

I just love how the Powers that Be at DC just make announcements without telling their writers first.

hey i just noticed tims costume is very similar to dicks costume? aha

hey anyone readin teen titans Has this series been good so far?

i like tim drake, but it that enough to stick with the series?

#36 Posted by RedheadedAtrocitus (6885 posts) - - Show Bio

Sure amloving Superboy myself...I may branch out soon enough to TT if that "Culling" story arc coming up in May is any good. This is great stuff. Go Lobdell!

#37 Posted by kennybaese (1088 posts) - - Show Bio

Since when do Whiskey sites watermark images?

I'm looking forward to picking this book up in trade for Tim Drake, if nothing else. The art is fine, too. I don't understand why people hate it so much, other than to bash Liefeld for whatever reason.

#38 Posted by ThePRez (275 posts) - - Show Bio

still not interested in this book

#39 Posted by haydenclaireheroes (8844 posts) - - Show Bio

It seems from the images here that we are going to see the Teen Titans become more of a team than they have been for the past couple of issues.

I love these exclusive articles, the Scott Snyder stuff has been great and this is up there too. It should be time delayed with preference to subscribers though

#44 Posted by DarkShadows (742 posts) - - Show Bio

The artwork doesn't look that bad, better than what I can draw.

I am wondering which title Raven is going to pop up since she's not appearing in TT anymore. My guess is probably either the Outlaws or JL Dark.

But I am just waiting for her to show up. :)

#45 Posted by Saren (25225 posts) - - Show Bio

I'm just wondering if Lobdell actually speaks like that in real life.

@Mbecks14: I totally dis-agree with you is, I think his artwork is good, NOT THE BEST, but good and better then a lot of other artist out there. I am curious to see how much better your work is compared to Brett Booth's art.

Besides these are comic books, I to have a lot of anatomy books and the superheroes anatomy is little different.

Um. Just went and took a gander at your gallery. Trust me. You aren't "more talented."

#48 Posted by Mbecks14 (2068 posts) - - Show Bio

@thechessclub: I'd say I take offense but i don't. I know that I'm a good artist and Brett Booth lacks any functioning concept of human anatomy. He has his style and i'm sure it's some people's cup of tea, but I know I'm good.

If your human anatomy is so superior then how come your Batman has a woman's dainty legs? I think you could stand to consume a little humble pie. It'd do you some good.

@thechessclub: Fair. But I'm just defending myself. Apologize for sounding so arrogant.
