Speedy and WonderGirl go on a date. And you know what? It was awesome. I try hard to stay away from the lovey dovey stuff, I'm not a 13 year old girl with a crush on Billy, who sits next to me in Science class, but this year one run has been great and this issue was probably the funniest of the lot. It brings me back two decades when Speedy does things like call Wonder Girl a "stupid girl". Great funny stuff, I laughed out loud on this one. Or as you crazy kids call it, I lol(ed). Past tense, I had to add the "ed". Fun stuff, probably would appeal a little more to lads and ladies in the mid to late twenties region.
Yes, I know JLA, Flash, and Superman Batman came out (or as I call it Batsupe) and they were all great. But. T.T. Yr1 was a breath of fresh air to this week.

Speedy definitely cares about that car.
This is ok, again. Nothing I really cared about. The turtle part was kinda funny. How do they have electricity there if Batman just learned about the hideout?
Also, I noticed that that the chop shop has a Joker car of something in the background.

The main story of this otherwise fumbled ball of a comic book, is actually a story that could have been pretty darn good. Sadly enough it is buried underneath art that does not know if it wants to be regular art or to follow the animated series. Granted I believe that were this a straight forward story of the troubles of teen love in a superhero world. I think it would have been just a touch better than it had turned out.
Instead everything from the "relationship" to the lame battle with a chop shop owner. It failed on almost every level.
Too bad, it was a subject that deserved better treatment.
