Teen Titans Terror Tower!
Wow, say that title five times fast!
I have to admit that I've been more than a little sketchy of this book for the last few arcs. The previous stuff with the, what were they "Terror Titans"(?), fell a little short in my book and all this stuff going on with Red Devil just seems a little lame in my book. Personally I think it all could have been handled a little better. But, hey, that might just be me.
This issue was fun, though. Well, fun only if you exclude all the mental stuff that's going on with Miss Martian; that's another character's drama that's just getting a little old to me. I'm really sorry, but from a creative writing perspective I just would have handled both WAY differently. Miss Martian herself is on a power level that, most likely, usurps Wonder Girl's. Turning her could have made a legendary Titans villain and storyline.
The whole Wonder Dog thing was done really good, though, I thought. I honestly didn't know if Wendy was going to make it or not. To tell you the truth I'm kind of happy that she didn't make it. Not that I take pleasure in a character's mutilation/death, but it adds a certian aspect of realism to the story. Things happen and people get hurt and sometimes die, y'know. So kudo's to Sean McKeever for that one.
On another down note. I'm not such a fan of Eddy Barrows' art. It makes me feel like I'm back in the early 90's. Not a whole lot of crispness to it at all. And the way that some of the women are posed is kinda early Image-ish. Of course his demonish Wonder Dog was pretty wick for sure.
