Um...not bad,I guess. My thoughts
This isn't really the best review I've written, and it's not really going to be thorough. I'll just give my thoughts on it:
- In terms of story,I think that this is an interesting origin for Bart Allen (or Bar Tor). So I don't think that it's bad since,in my opinion,it is an interesting one.
- The way he gets his powers isn't really explained...I mean,it's just a bit vague. It could be because of his NDE that activates his metagene. It could be because of the radiation of space. It's a bit vague and not really explained.
- The writing isn't really....the best. I wasn't feeling it. I mean,the narration in the caption boxes are just a bit....dull.
- My issue is the personality of Bart. We see him younger as being ruthless and doing anything for the protection/survival of him and his sister. He does many morally questionable things, like stealing, and possibly killing others in his early life for their survival. Later,we see him in a more heroic state being a freedom fighter against an oppressive empire (and a shocking experience makes him realize the effects of his actions). And then when he's sent to the present,he suddenly has a "new personality",and we see a personality that is what you would expect from Bart Allen. Basically,he progresses in his personality because of many shocking events in his life. The only problem I have is that the "Bart Allen" personality of his just seems to be a facade, and it's almost suggested that he's evil....I really hope that this isn't the case after all of that character progression he went through in his lifetime.
This review is a bit "meh" since my thoughts are all over the place.
Basically,I don't have any issue with his backstory. I like it and don't have any issue with it,I only have an issue with his questionable personality. I hope the Bart Allen personality isn't some facade and that he isn't really....evil.
I will say,though,that the dialogue is......dated. It's like something from the 90s.
