The Teen Titans are captured by the villain with a British accent, Mad Mod. In his madhouse, he attempts to "teach them a lesson" by hypnotizing them. Robin breaks free and chases after Mad Mod. After failing to catch him, he finds and rescues Starfire, and later both of them rescue Beast Boy. Later on, Raven and Cyborg escape their prisons on their own, and revive Beast Boy from his hypnotized state (Beast Boy is very susceptible to hypnosis).
All of them agree that the only way to stop Mad Mod is to capture him take his cane, which seems to control everything in Mad Mod's mad school. The Titans spot him and pursue him, but he can do seemingly impossible things that the Titans can't, and no matter what the Titans do, they always end up going in circles.
After the Titans chase and fail to capture him, Mad Mod reappears and scolds them for failing his lessons and tries to make them repeat the lessons. Robin tells everyone to get to Mad Mod and get his cane, and a huge battle between the Titans and Mad Mod's army of robots ensues. The Titans are captured one by one, and Robin is the only one who reaches Mad Mod. When he lunges for the cane, his hands go right through it like it isn't there, but Mad Mod handles it as if it were a real thing! Realizing that Mad Mod is just as fake as the rest of the school, Robin jumps through a hole in the wall, where the real Mad Mod (an old man) is revealed to be hiding a bunch of complex machines to create an illusion. Robin destroys the machines and captures the REAL Mad Mod, allowing him and the other Titans to escape the school. After once again awakening Beast Boy, they all go home.
