These terrible machines from Apokolips had the ability to create constructs designed to serve their master Darkseid. The were able to create magnetic fields and were embedded as the core of a servitor thus serving as a potential weak spot in their bodies. Darkseid commanded DeSaad to prepare a Techno-Seed as part of Operation: Humiliation. This saw the device being sent into the Hudson Nuclear Facility reactor where it formed the creature known as Brimstone. Once formed, the fiery giant proceeded to destroy everything in his path as he deemed it his mission to rid the world of mankind. Task Force X was dispatched by Amanda Waller to destroy the beast after they learned that a machine within Brimstone was generating magnetic fields to contain its fiery plasma based body. Deadshot managed use a rifle to make the shot against the Techno-Seed thus defeating Brimstone.
