    Origin

    Tatsuki Arisawa grew up in Karakura Town and is a childhood friend with Ichigo Kurosaki. They met at the same karate dojo when they were four, and he knew him as a crybaby when he lost, and he never won against Tatsuki. Though she would see him smile when his mother came to pick him up. She thought he was such a baby for clinging to his mother. When Tatsuki talked with him. She learned that he had been able to see ghosts for as long as he could remember. After his mother was killed when they were nine years-old, he stopped coming to school. She went looking for him and found Ichigo walking alone along the river bank that his mother died. It pained her to watch him walk alone the river bank as if he was looking for his mother.

    Years later in school, Tatstuki became friends with Orihime Inoue. She was a girl with long orange hair and was bullied by some of the other girls who cut her hair to humiliate her. She she used to live with her brother, but he had tragically died in a car accident. Tatsuki befriended Orihime and became her guardian against the bullies. Over the years they became best friends and Orihime let her hair grow out.

    Tatsuki Arikawa (有沢 竜貴, Arisawa Tatsuki) is a supporting character of the BLEACH series that was created by Tite Kubo, It first began serialization Weekly Shonen Jump in August 2001. She was first introduced during the Agent of the Shinigami story arc.

    She first appeared in BLEACH Volume 1, CH. 2 "Starter".

    In the final pages for Volume 3, the design sketch of Tatsuki revealed that she worries the kanji in her name isn't cute, so she purposefully writes it in hiragana. In a manga only interview with Kon, he teases her for having small breasts, but she informs him that she actually has C Cups.

    Character Evolution

    Tatsuki is known for defending Orihime whenever Orihime is harassed or hurt. Tatsuki is represented as a tomboy, supported by the fact that she ranked second-strongest female karate practitioner amongst her age group in Japan.

    Although initially unable to see spirits, this changed after a close encounter with a Hollow that almost killed her. Though her memory of the attack was erased, Tatsuki developed the ability to see spirits, and became increasingly aware of the supernatural events taking place in her town and Ichigo's involvement in them. She didn't confront him about this until after Orihime's abduction.

    After the seventeen month time skip in the series, little has changed of Tatsuki. She has a part time job as a sensei at her karate dojo. He hair has a similar design, but now much longer in the back. There has been no sign of any increase in power.

    Major Story Arcs

    Agent of the Shinigami Arc

    Soul Society: The Sneak Entry Arc

    Several days later, Rukia had gone missing, but no one had any memories of her. The school went on break, and Tatsuki left for the karate nationals. She got the second rank in the high school division. She would of been able to take the top rank, be she got hit by a car and broke her arm. Everyone in her class gathered to watch the fireworks. Tatsuki could tell what Orihime was going somewhere she couldn't follow. She told her friend to just come back safe so they could come back to this spot again.

    Arrancar Arc

    After Ichigo had returned, Tatsuki witnessed him running from the school while in his spirit form. A day later, she was present for the invasion of the Arrancar, Ulquiorra Schiffer and Yammy Llargo. She barely managed to survive Yammy sucking away the souls of all the humans in the area. She was defended by Orihime and Sado Yasutora, but they were also defeated. Ichigo arrives to save them all, and he still needed help to drive the Arrancar back. She was healed, and Rukia soon returned with some others. Back at her place, she was confused why she was so concerned about Ichigo.

    Tatsuki remained hidden in the city as she witnessed Ichigo's battle with Grimmjow. When Orihime went missing, only Tatsuki seemed to have any memory of her. She had to be held back form attacking Ichigo when she went to him for answers, and he told her it was non of her business. However, Tatsuki, Keigo Asano, and Mizuiro Kojima followed Ichigo to the secret underground of Urahara's shop. He had traveled to Hueco Mundo to save Orihime, and Kisuke Urahara addressed them after he had left.

    Hueco Mundo Arc

    While Ichigo was gone, the city was still in danger from Hollows. Tatsuki joined a team of costumed heroes of Urahara called the Karakura-Raizer Team. The suits allowed them to focus their Spiritual Pressure. She was the second member of the team known as Karakura-Raizer Beast. During that time, several pillars were put up by Urahara to transport Karakura Town to the Soul Society, and all the humans were put to sleep.

    Fake Karakura Town Arc

    Tatsuki woke up in Karakura Town after it had been moved to the Soul Society, and she found some of her friends from class, as most people were asleep. She knew what was going on involved Ichigo, but was sure he'd arrive to fix things. After dropping her friends off at the school, she went to Ichigo's house to find his sisters. Her plan was interrupted when they were approached by Sosuke Aizen and Gin Ichimaru. She could feel the immense spiritual pressure from him and collapsed. She yelled at Keigo to run, then they were saved by Rangiku Matsumoto, a member of the 13 Court Guard. While being carried away, Tatsuki felt angry that Ichigo never told her that he worked with such a beautiful woman.

    Later as she could feel Aizen approaching again, they tried to run. Just as death seemed certain as they could no longer escape from Aizen, Ichigo appeared. She could feel the incredible power in Aizen, but oddly enough felt nothing from Ichigo. Yet she saw him grab Aizen by the head and pulled him away in a flash. They could only witness the battle that followed by the flashes and explosions in the distance. Ichigo won, Karakura Town was put back on Earth, and they returned with Orihime.

    Lost Shinigami Substitute Arc

    Seventeen months have passed, and Tatsuki got a part time job as a assistant teacher at her karate dojo. The next day, she met him outside of class to join the soccer team. She told him about her job, and he hated the idea of calling her sensei. Their arguing was interrupted as Orihime called out from the second floor window and climbed down the pipes. She had something to ask the two, but Tatsuki had to hurry for her job. Though before she left, she warned Ichigo about how his boss will react if he didn't tell her about his new job.

    Some time later, Tatsuki is attacked by Shūkurō Tsukishima, who uses his Fullbring powers to implant himself into her memories, as if he's always been there. Shukuro later calls her and several others to Ichigo's house in order to antagonize him. Everyone is confused by Ichigo suddenly punching Tsukishima. Everyone believe he is both Ichigo's friend and family. They are later brought to Tsukishima's home as hypnotized hostages as part of a plot to steal Ichigo's reawakening powers. Everyone's memories returned to normal once Tsukishima was killed.

    The Thousand-Year Blood War Arc

    As Ichigo, Orihime, and Sado Yasutora disappeared again, Tatsuki was with Keigo and Mizuiro Kojima when they were approached by Shunsui Kyōraku, the newly appointed commander of the 13 Court Guard. He came to tell them that there was a remote chance Ichigo may return from the coming fight with a power so great that it would be dangerous for the living world, and he wouldn't be allowed to return. He gave them all Soul Tickets that would allow them to travel to the Soul Society to see Ichigo.

    Powers & Abilities

    Tatsuki Arisawa is a human who does process a significant amount of Spiritual Pressure (霊圧, Reiatsu) and awareness, but has never managed to focus it into any abilities. She can see ghosts and read Spiritual Pressure in her presence.

    Unarmed Combat

    She is a powerful martial artist who has won the Japanese High School Karate Nationals. She's considered to by the second strongest girl in the nation from her age group.

    Weapons & Equipment

    Karakura-Raizer Suit

    Tatsuki joined the Karakura-Raizer Team to help defend Karakura Town from Hollows while Ichigo was in Hueco Mundo. The power suit she was given was created by Kisuke Urahara to allow them to focus and increase their Spiritual Pressure in combat, and they were designed by Uryuu Ishida. She was the second strongest member of the team and was known as Karakura-Raizer Beast.

    • Kaizer Deadly Magnum (ライザー·デッドリー·マグナム, Raizā Deddorī Magunam): This technique was a mixture of a fore-based attack and her own fighting style. The power suit formed her power to her fist in a flame attack to increase her own combat skills.

    BLEACH (2004)

    The BLEACH animated series is a direct adaptation of Tite Kubo's original manga. It's produced by Studio Pierrot and first began airing in October 5, 2004. Tatsuki's first anime appearance was in BLEACH - Episode 2 "The Shinigami's Work", which aired on October 12, 2004. Her character in the Japanese series is voiced by Junko Noda, and the U.S. dub produced by VIZ Media is done by Wendee Lee.

    In the Bount Arc, she is shown catching up with Orihime during summer. She is also used as part of Urahara's test of Ichigo. She seems to forget Orihime, but is the first to go missing. In the The New Captain Shūsuke Amagai Arc, Tatsuki is only shown in high school and interacting with Orihime and others in their class. In the Beast Swords Arc, she's present when Kyōko Haida joined their class, and becomes friends with her along with many others in the class. She later is an official for a basketball game.

    The most unique of the filler arcs that Tatsuki plays a role in is during the Hueco Mundo Arc. Though the identity of the team was shown in the manga pages as extra content. Their actions as a team were never shown in detail. During the animated version of this story, Tatsuki and the rest face off against an unnamed female Arrancar.

    Anime to Manga Differences

    Tatsuki's hair length is shown as different lengths after the time skip from the original manga and anime adaptations. In the manga her lengthened hair only reaches her shoulders, but the anime version has her hair all the way down to her back. The reason behind this change is never explained.

    Movies

    Games

    Tatsuki has had few appearances in the BLEACH franchise of games. Her first game appearance was in BLEACH: The Blade of Fate (2006) for the Nintendo DS. She is a playable character in BLEACH: Dark Souls (2007) for the Nintendo DS. In the Nintendo DS game BLEACH: The 3rd Phantom (2008), a turned-based RPG, Tatsuki must be protected from Yammy, as she was in the manga, by Sado and Orihime until Ichigo arrives. The largest change is Uryuu is added to the scene.
