    Talon was a promising series that was starting to really find it's footing going into issue #5. The reveals of Sebastian in #6 and Calvin's death in #7 showed that this book could be outstanding. And then issue #8 happened. Guillem March was replaced by the new artist, Miguel Sipulveda, and the book's quality took a turn for the worst.     GO TEAM WASHINGTON 1

    After a disappointing cover last issue, Sepulveda really delivers a gorgeous one this time around. The super close up works really well when we get to see the details in the stitching in Bane's mask, the stretching folds in the material, and the cracks in the owl mask. Really nice work.I wish I could say the same for Sepulveda's interior art, there's just not a great flow to the action here, but it's definitely a very traditional fight scene, and Sepulveda excels more at strange kind of battles...

    Bane vs Court is Coming! 0

    The buildup to the inevitable Bane vs Court of Owls has been really good. This James Tynion can write good stories, that's for sure. Seeing Calvin back with the Court has been a surprise I didn't expect, but I love unexpected twists like this. Can't wait to see how he ends up breaking away from them. Seeing Bane back in the fold has been totally awesome. It's nice to see a writer give and show Bane the respect his character deserves (see Batwoman 22 for how to NOT use Bane properly). This ...
