Finally - A New Storlyine for Hulk
Prior to Tales to Astonish #73, nearly all previous Hulk adventures involved some sort of plot involving General 'Thunderbolt' Ross and the U.S. Army trying to capture or kill Bruce Banner or The Hulk. But beginning with this issue, the Hulk steps into a larger world... literally.
Cured of the bullet in his brain by The Leader, the Hulk is indebted to this 'smartest man in the world'. The Leader has a task planned for the Hulk - travel to the home world of The Watcher and retrieve some highly advanced alien technology which he can use to take over Earth. The Hulk is sent at the speed of thought to the edge of the known universe - but while the Watcher will not interfere with Hulks mission - other dangers await...
While it might be argued that this kind of interstellar gallivanting might be better suited to a book like The Fantastic Four, it sure is nice to see the Hulk drawn into a fresh storyline.
