    Fun For All Ages

    The Story:
Two sisters named Taki (thirteen) and Olivia (seven) gain superpowers while caught in the middle of an explosion outside their friends house which was caused by their friends father. Taki is freaked out while Olivia wants to be superheroes and design costumes. Their friends father is after them and they are forced to make decisions beyond their age.

    My Thoughts:
Takio is Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming's newest creation. The same creative team behind the series Powers delivers a series for all ages to enjoy. This comic is a quick, fun and enjoyable read that will give you a few laughs in the process.

The two main characters are easily likable and funny especially Olivia, the younger one. The funniest part was when Olivia described her powers as "kung-fu telli-ko-netflix" and Taki corrected her by saying "kung-fu telekinesis". However at some points I thought Olivia's dialogue was a little beyond what kids her age would say. Sometimes it felt like she was the older one.

Oeming's art is fun and fits perfect for this type of comic. It's very cartoonish. I could see this being turned into an animated series at some point.

I'm 23 years old an I enjoyed reading this comic. It was a nice change of pace to read something crazy and unusual. I think a lot of "serious" comic readers will find this childish and one-dimensional. It is targeted for more younger readers but like I said, it is for all ages. If you have kids this would be great for them to read and enjoy.

    Rating: 4.5/5

Yeah, so Bendis can leave the 'All Ages' market alone... 0

This isn't a bad book..  Rather, as I turned the last page, I was just left feeling entirely indifferent to it.  I'm usually the sort who, once I buy volume 1 of a series by an author I like, I'll at least give it a chance through volume 2; but with this one I"m not so rue.I felt that Bendis restrained himself SO much here in order to remain "all ages" appropriate that he loses the older age group audience.  This is a big problem that many creators have when getting into this subgenre, especiall...
