Swamp Thing has always been an elemental force of godlike power, with little that could take him down. While Alec Holland is no longer Swamp Thing, it's looking like he will be "exercising his green thumb" for the good of plant- and man-kind. In one panel he looks like a Darkness-esque symbiote of man and magic. That'd make for a much more vulnerable hero than the classic Swamp Thing (who could abandon any body and grow a new one in whatever shape he liked). And he'll be up against something powe...

“We Are The Effect We Have On Our Friends” 2

Both Animal Man and Swamp Thing have been really upping the game and bringing a horror component to the New 52 that I think the line mostly lacks. I’m not normally into the crazy gore or horror movies, but the mythology they’re building, while simplistic, is still pretty cool. I mean, you’d think that maybe plants and animals would be competitive forces toward each other, but it seems their real enemy is The Black: Rot.It’s a battle that has gone on since the end of time. Entropy vs. order. Than...

I love this story ^.^There isn't much to be said other than this is a must pick up series... and wonders that I have about where this is all going and is there other being like Swamp Thing and Animal Man for the other kingdoms of life? Bacteria, Fungus, etc... Maybe a Captain Planet creature?!...

Swiftly becoming a favorite title of mine! 1

This issue continues to ratchet up the squirmy horror content of this consistently excellent series.  The tone is dark, the characters thus far are strong, the story is intriguing (especially if you're reading "Animal Man" as well), and the horror content is is impressively creepy.  In this issue, the horror element might actually be truly shocking in that it deals with children in a far braver way than mainstream companies are generally willing to do.  And this is coming from a hard-core, desen...

    Currently DC's Best Title 0

Words can't express how good the new Swamp Thing is. This has to be, bar none, the best comic DC is putting out right now. The story is engaging, and takes Swamp Thing to places as exciting as when Alan Moore was writing it. It's rare when a writer and artist are so in synch that you can't imagine any other images going with those words, or other words going with those images... so it's all the more surprising here, where the art duties are split between two artists!  To avoid giving any spoiler...

    Briliantly Dreadful 0

Swamp Thing has been a series that I have quite enjoyed. does Issue #3 keep up the pace of Swamp Thing or are things going a little sluggish. I think that this the best issue of Swamp Thing yet!  THE GOOD: I really like the art. It's very beautiful and I think that it gives Swamp Thing a certain tone that is unmatched in anything else DC Comics currently publishes. I really like the story and that is what makes Swamp Thing amazing. i really liked seeing the kid with the powers come into play. He...

    Children Are Inherintly Evil 0

The Good: Even when the cover's not quite the best, Yanick Paquette still nails it with the added border along the bottom. And something just cracks me up about the angle of Abigaile shooting Swamp Thing. This is a rare case where having 2 artists works. It's not the best, but Paquette and Ibanez have styles that don't clash too much, but there's not a super sensible reason for having 2 artists, and that's when it works best. They do balance out the scenes, but I still don't see the need. I just...

    NOT FOR KIDS!!! 0

I utterly love this series it has been consistent with art and story it has gone in a new and interesting direction and it totally works. The first two issues are brilliant read them now and so is the actual Rotworld crossover.PlotAbby is about to shoot Alec but is stopped when some plants grab her it turns out she was merely testing to see if he was Alec and after they make up they both get on Abby’s motorbike and ride off. William Arcane is attacked by some of the other kids in the hospital he...
