A doppelganger of the Swamp Thing, born from a part of Swamp Thing's own body that was severed in Swamp Thing #5 stalks the Florida swamps looking for it's counterpart. Instead it encounters a Seminole man who shelters it.

Cable, Abby and Bolt are also searching for Swamp Thing in a nearby town.

And Swamp Thing himself - finally come to the realization that his affliction is irreversible, contemplates death by suicide... or herbicide as the case may be.

    Notes:

    • This is part one of a two part story that was originally intended to be a single double sized issue.
    • The cover is a homage to the cover of Action Comics #1.

Though brought in as a "fill in" writer, Gerry Conway turns in one of the best Swamp Thing adventures in months! The Swamp Thing's arm, which was severed by a scythe back in Divinity, Maine, has regenerated an entire body - and that body is seeking out it's counterpart - after months of searching, it's finally caught up with him! Not only is that an interesting storyline, but all the minor characters seem like very three dimensional, believable people - something I don't think we've ever seen in...
