THE Superman movie!
I"ve loved this movie for years. Never mind the fact that Christopher Reeves was an unknown when he starred in this role but he played both parts well. Everything from the music of John Williams to the Fortress and Krypton itself worked well. Seeing General Zod even if only for moments was great as well.
Gene Hackman was smooth and tricky as Lex Luthor, Margot Kidder playing a Lois Lane that would be unrivaled until years later in the TV series Smallville. Jor-el played by Marlon Brando who with poise and character that didn't need words to show the graveness of the character.
My only annoyance with the movie was the turning back the world and time which can't be done, even in the DC universe. But that's a small thing compared to the rest of the movie.
I recommend this movie as part of anyone's collection that shows comic book movies don't need to be all bang and flash to keep an audience's attention.
