I think Bruce willis is a good actor but I'd rather go for a younger Lex.

I guess that puts Patrick Stewart out of the question.

I'd say based on Looks - sure (although he's maybe a bit old?).

His movies historically though don't have him in a role like that - he's generally an action based actor. Of course if the idea is to have him battle it out with Supe's on some Kryptonite powered steroid rage or in his battle armor - it could be workable. I'm actually really unsure who I'd like to see as Lex Luthor in a Superman film. It might even be a good idea to go outside the big names and find someone unique to the role. Or get Michael Rosenbaum. IMO he's been the best one yet overall.

For the record (as in before anyone starts flaming me) Gene Hackman was great, but the Lex character he played wasn't true to modern comics at all and that style doesn't fit anymore, but doesn't mean he didn't do ana mazing job with what he was given - he was just a bit to "weak" IMO, and lacked the strategical nature that the Lex I know has. I think the Lex played by Michael Rosenbaum was perfect and he did an amazing job - that's all.

Clancy Brown. The guy has over a decades worth of experience playing Lex as a voice actor and on top of that, he has shown to be a competent live action actor as well. Just have him shave his hair and we've got our Lex for a new generation.

lol no, Willis is ok as far as acting and Lex doesn't suit him well IMO opinion anyway.

I don't think he passes as intellectual enough. its because he does them die hard and red movies, so I see him as that kind of character. kevin spacy does some deep movies and I thought he did good, despite the movie sucking. Bruce willis would be a better baron zemo. I don't know what he looks like unmasked though.

LOL but he doesn't have the acting ability required to be Lex Luthor.
Luthor is probably the most complicated DC villian, as great as Joker is his motives are simple and every move of his is justified with the poor excuse that he is "Super-sane".

Luthor on the other hand is probably the smartest man alive, a guy with messiah complex whose first doubts of his superiority came when he looked at the eyes of a god-like being raised on earth. He is a business man, a con-man, a BAD man when he wants to be. Someone whose whole life was dedicated to prove that he is the greatest being on earth. Luthor is like Superman, he represents a part of us, and in this case the part of fear, ego and jealousy. And i don't think Willis has what it takes to present this character in the big screen.

I feel you're type-casting Bruce Willis a bit there, which is fine, but he can still play the more reserved character. His role in the Wrong Man was very, very good, and if he brings that same kind of intimidating patience to the role, I think he could certainly pull Luthor off.

Whatever happens with Lex, as long as he's not obsessed with real estate, I'm happy.

LOL. I admit that i know Willis only from his action movies that's where i am judging him from. He looks the part, he has the arroant smirk in his face but I don't know if he is a good actor to be honest.

It's Kevin Smith. To use the words "untalented egotistical douchebag" would be a compliment to him.

I think that his acting doesn't fit someone who is highly aware of his own extremely high intelligence and is a cunning but mad genius. Bruce Willis is more of the actor for a BA action hero with more street smarts than book smarts. Just because he's bald and looks like the character in Injustice Gods Among Us doesn't necessarily mean he could be Lex.
