@Onemoreposter: It is a hard call, new comic readers would associate Superboy with Kon-EL. old school with Kal-El. The jacket and sun glasses killed Conner's outfit...

@drgnx: Yeah, but I'd imagine more people watched Smallville(which was basically modernized superboy) over the last 10 years than have read Superboy or Teen Titans. I always loved his original punk rock look truth be told.

I thought that was just the tit's when I was a kid first reading Reign of the Supermen.

Well if we are looking at other influences outside the comics, I'm sure some people might associate smallville Clark Kent with Superboy, but I'm also guessing this might change a few opinions.

1993 on kon-el WAS superboy.ive been a fan of all three comic versions(Kesel, johns, and Lobdell),and enjoyed seeing him on young justice and smallville

Smallville Superboy as clone of Clark Kent had a much simpler origin compared to the New 52 Superboy origin. For the next Superboy origin reboot, just have Superboy as a plain clone of Superman and there's no need to mix in other genes. Can also get rid of the clone origin and have Superboy as another survivor like Dev-Em. For a clone origin, maybe Superboy as a clone of Jor-El might be more interesting.

Or even better than that, keep kon a clone,he'll he can be a clone of superman, and only superman,BUT say that because he was created under a yellow sun,and on a planet with a much weaker gravity, his powers were mutated into TTK,which would look like they do now.that is a easy way of doing it,simple for none comic or superboy readers, but also keeping his uniqueness,TTK,kon-el,clone,etc.

I prefer to keep it simple and let Superboy have the same powers as Superman.

Have you ever been a fan of the clone kon-el? Seems your missing the point of the character
