i think very many of you dislike lobdells run (i enjoyed he'l on earth. i felt it was heavily edited which led to the disappointment) so im curious who you think could do a better job. excluding grant morrison.
Superman
Character » Superman appears in 18942 issues.
Sent to Earth as an infant from the dying planet Krypton, Kal-El was adopted by the loving Kent family and raised in America's heartland as Clark Kent. Using his immense solar-fueled powers, he became Superman to defend mankind against all manner of threats while championing truth, justice, and the American way!
who do you want to write the superman main title?
A Millar run would be simultaneously hilarious and horrible.
<looking to the left>
<looking to the right>
Frank Miller!!!
Lololololololololololol
YES.
Lol.. Actually as long as Miller didn't draw it I'd be willing to give him a shot. If nothing else he'd be interesting.
As unpopular as he is around here, I really like his Loeb's work on the previous Superman/Batman series - public enemies and the Supergirl arcs were fantastic I though (helped by amazing artwork from Turner too) so if he could do more like that I'd be happy as well.
Snyder has had an awesome start with Unchained so he'd always be welcome on the title.
You banned Morrison but it's undeniable he'd also be great in the position too.
And given the way he kicked off Justice League in the N52 I'd also nominate Geoff Johns personally.
@wishiwassuperman: As much as I love Geoff Johns, the poor man is stretched enough as it is. It's surprising how he manages to release all his titles on time each month.
@wishiwassuperman: In a perfect world
I'd pick mark waid. But realistically I think mark
Millar or brad meltzer would do well
@arturocalakayvee: exactly my issue!
@sog7dc: Darn it, DC! Stop sucking!
A lot of the guy's I'd like to work on Superman currently write for Marvel...
Key word - "currently" - things can change in the comic book world... sometimes we just have to be patient.
@arturocalakayvee: If dc were a person you would hate that guy. Just sayin

I know he's leaving Aquaman coming up shortly at least. But that still puts him at quite a few titles lol
Bryan Q. Miller is killing it on Smallville Season 11 and I would be more than happy to see him on a main book

1. yes!
2. really? do you think he could write superman?

I love smallville, but Bryan miller has been working on the smallville universe for a long long time, idk if he would distinguish the main earth very well
@allstarsuperman: there are writers who have written for the Ultimate universe for long periods of time and have transitioned over to the 616 just fine....plus Miller has written for the main DC earth before....prior to the new 52 he wrote an amazing Batgirl series featuring Stephanie Brown
@danhimself: oh ok I did not know that. i bet he would be fine then
@allstarsuperman: then you need to go read his Batgirl book RIGHT NOW!!!!
@danhimself: eventually, ive never read anything with Stephanie brown
@allstarsuperman: you don't really need to know that much about her other than some stuff that you can read up on her wiki...that series was where all of her character growth happened...most people hated her before that
@danhimself: I know se was spoiler and "died" but I have never actually a comic with her. ill check it out.
@fallschirmjager: I guess that's what happens when you're good at what you do.
@wishiwassuperman: Justice League and Forever Evil will actually be the only two titles he'll be working on. I forgot he's left/leaving GL too.
So who knows. It might be a possibility.
@allstarsuperman: Yeah I think so. I hear Jupiters legacy is one of the best super hero books out right now

really!?!?! I thought about getting that but decided not to, that sucks
@allstarsuperman: I'm
Gonna pick it up
In trade
@sog7dc: me to I guess
@allstarsuperman: I heard th dc screwed mark waid over though.....so I dint think it's likely that he will write superman
@arturocalakayvee: If dc were a person you would hate that guy. Just sayin
Which is weird because DC is my favorite publisher haha. Most likely out of nostalgia at this point though :P
ME!!!! JK, I would faint from the pressure.
Max Landis had a great idea for the Death of Superman story line and was offered a chance to do it but he couldnt. I also liked Mar Miller's Red Son, but that was more of a Lex Luthor story and a great one at that. I dont know many comic book writers but I'd like Vince Gilligan to write one.
Millar already had a run which is better than most Superman runs.
BB
Even though I don't like what he's doing with Injustice, Tom Taylor wrote a really good actual Superman issue in one flashback story. I wouldn't mind him taking over Superman. Or Bryan Q Millar based on his awesome Smallville Season 11 work. Or move Snyder onto the main Superman title after he finishes his first Unchained arc.
A Millar run would be simultaneously hilarious and horrible.

Do tell what that work is because a lot of Millar's work is horribly overrated and full of poor narrative, simplistic tropes and overdone violence.
The kid friendly series Superman Adventures.

@billy_batson: I thought you were going to cite Red Son. At least I'd have heard of it. Wait a second, I remember reading Superman Adventures #25 - (Almost) The World's Finest Team That was a really good story actually. And now that I think about it, I remember reading Superman Adventures #36 - This Is a Job For Superman. There was a great moment where Superman yells at a cop for disregarding the suicide of a criminal who had committed a crime that his brother took the fall for. That's one of my favourite Superman moments right there along with him stopping the execution. My apologies Billy, you have cited a very good run even though I only read those two issues.

Lol, that's fine :P It's understandable when it comes to Millar who's done plenty of shallow and shocking stories but his DC work was strong.

Mark waid an chris samnee ftw!!!!
You sir are in my mind!
