There are so many versions of Superman and we love them all except for the DKR Superman but who's the best?
Superman
Character » Superman appears in 18940 issues.
Sent to Earth as an infant from the dying planet Krypton, Kal-El was adopted by the loving Kent family and raised in America's heartland as Clark Kent. Using his immense solar-fueled powers, he became Superman to defend mankind against all manner of threats while championing truth, justice, and the American way!
Which version of Superman is the best?

This. Haha :)
Whatever version you like the best (except most dumb/atrociously written/etc). Don’t think that there could only one single right answer to that question.
The Real Life One.
That's brilliant.
Whichever one has Bats punching him in the mush!! Seriously tho I'm really enjoying Scott Snyder's take on him in Unchained. I really hope they stick the landing.
The Real Superman
The one in my mind first, then the New 52, and after that the Michael Turner version.
Those to me are the best of the best.
Either All Star Superman or The Legendary Mr. Christopher Reeve Superman.
For me it's Post-Crisis Superman from 89-94. Firing on all cylinders then. 86-88 and 95-99 weren't too shabby, either. I'm not as hot on 2000-2011 (especially with the origin changes), though it was certainly still better than Poo52. The one now I'm enjoying a lot but still too early to judge.
In other media, Donner/Reeve's Superman, and George Reeves in the Adventures of Superman show.

YES!
superman birthright made me have a renewed appreciation of the character
but Smallville is what brought me into liking the superhero and comics in general
Kingdom Come Superman.
The Real Life One.
To be honest all are good , however that said I hope they finish with the Superman/Wonder Women arc and start that comic again. So much to tell so many stories left untold. Coming from a rich past of Lois Lane I have been there and done that. So I leave that to others to enjoy. I however hope they give us fans of the couple that rare look into another world a world that was hinted at before and has great potential.
No superman is the right one if the story is bad. Every superman is the perfect superman if the story is good. Remember a story is good for a bit but they have to change the characters have to have character or they fail. You cannot force Character but you can enjoy it. The flow the tide the life of it as it takes shape. One reason why I enjoy Superman is because written well he shows us that life is not about powers but about will not about how strong you are but about how strong the people you care about are. He represents a soul trying to over come the darkness in others by showing the way by saying you can and you will if you have a little faith.
Clark Kent Aka Superman is a story about a soul like all souls on a journey to find himself in a world of constant change so when I say Superman/lois/Diana/who knows. It is because the story becomes richer the world larger the life of a soul on a journey to someplace from some place just more complete. Do not be one way do not say oh that could never be because it makes yourself one way. Be open to new things new ways of seeing things and remember what comics are all about. Good guys taking on bad guys. Life being larger then life. A stage that shows all aspects of the universe. So we can look at a diamond and see all parts all reflective parts. This makes a great story a great character and how it all comes together makes for good food for thought. As it is supposed to be. That said I have seen my share of potential and said to myself they start good , they get going and in the end they take the easy way out.
Maybe one day we will get great stories , drawn to life by even greater artist and one day hit the big screen with a zest few can challange but they do and they make things better and more bold.
The challange I have for the industry is to make stories that are worthy of being read , worthy of the time and the money you want people to spend on them. If you do that then the endings will make sense and you always have another faucet of the jewel to see another way of seeing things.
If not then sooner or later your going to kill off any hope of saving a industry that nobody wants to invest in. Because you no longer have the reader in mind and why would anybody invest in a story or book if it is a waste of time?
Remember us...
The fans.
That is all.
Personally, the favorite [comic] version of Superman is the New 52 one. He is still a really good person, he's young, he's pretty funny (with some sarcastic comments occasionally), and most importantly, he was the Superman I started reading first.
In movies, the favorite version is most likely the DCEU Superman, where we see him struggle, being tested like never before, and being the most human of them all.
This is a tough one, really. Superman, to me, is just a nice guy from a simple family trying to do the best he can with what he's got. A nice guy trying to do what he considers morally right even if it's politically wrong. I adore that version more than anything. At the same time, I enjoy a Superman whom is more aggressive and assertive, as there are many whom words cannot stop and will only stop via force. Here are the versions I consider the greatest...
Comics:
The Death of Superman
What's So Funny About Truth, Justice, and the American Way
Superman: Secret Origin
Superman: Earth One
Superman: Unchained (despite some issues here and there)
Animation:
DC Animated Universe
Superman vs The Elite
Superman: Unbound
JL: Gods and Monsters
Live-Action:
DC Extended Universe
Smallville (despite my handful of problems with it)
The one in my head.
This is the most accurate answer you can possible give.
