Lifting the kryptonite continent was the most impressive but I picked going back in time because of how ridiculous that was and because Christopher reeve did it. Anything he did as superman was awesome

Saving Lois by turning back time...awesome feat at the time and also to see what he could do when he lost his rag. Reeve's Superman was epic!!

I'm about to shock the world, but Superman Returns Plane scene.

I mean, the guy saved everyone and even made a cheesy speech(lifted from Donner's Supes) after that was so Superman. I bet if you took out Roth and Bosworth and replace them with Henry and Amy the scene shines. Henry's natural charisma would flow through in a scene like that. I hope we get a scene like that in the sequels.

All the Superman saving Lois feats take a back burner, act of selfishness and sometimes I wish he wouldn't get to her in time.

He can save others, he still wont give a speech and be inspiring.

This scene is actually is genuinely pretty inspiring. Superman has just gotten the CRAP beaten out of him by this guy. He's been poisoned, his face is swollen and bruised, there's blood pouring out of his mouth and now Bruce is just taunting Superman while he's down. But what does Superman do while all this is happening? He scans Bruce to see if he's injured. The only thing he says during the beatdown is "Bruce! Your heart!" He doesn't beg for Bruce to stop or show mercy, he doesn't try to insult Bruce or taunt him back. All he does is try to see if Bruce is alright even as the guy is pounding his face like a slab of meat. Even when he's getting the crap kicked out of him, all Supes wants to do is help people.

Rest assured, I not going to vote for Chris Reeve’s feats just because of nostalgia.

Now, I have three candidates – reversing time on the whole planet, lifting Kryptonite island and withstanding gravity beam and destroying World’s Engine.

Reversing time – I certainly would have chosen this feat if it wasn’t just so unclear and impossible thing. If Donner just made Superman fly faster than light, break time stream and destroy warhead before set off earthquake, than I would be “bravo” and “magnificent”. But no, Superman reverse Earth’s movement – which should have completely destroy the entire biosphere of Earth – and reverse it once more, to make sure nothing could survive. Meh.

Plus I kinda agree with @superguy1591 here. The rest of population Superman saves by usual methods (and I suspect he didn’t manage to save everyone), but something happened with Lois – and he immediately blew a gasket.

Kryptonite island and World’s Engine – those two feats are very similar. Weakened by something Superman overcoming the enormous odds and saves the day.

Well, just because in second case he was weakened by something other than Kryptonite (Smallville and Super’s movies overdone this weakness) and Cavill actually made heroic face while doing it (unlike of constipated Routh’s version) destroying the World’s Engine gets my vote.

@r2datu: It's inspiring because it boils down to Batman's history. That's where his parents died, and in the battle of good, he's fighting Superman.

I guess people can find things inspiring for different reasons!

Its a three way tie between the Superman Returns plane scene, the Superman Returns Kryptonite Island scene, and the MoS World Engine scene.
