    @SilverGalford:
    Torquasm Vo is a Kryptonian "martial art" of a sort. A mental martial art to be exact. It's a bit hard to explain but think Buddhist monks who are allegedly communicating through a parallel plane to ours. Some writers use it as the reason for Superman's high level of telepathic resistance.

    The physical counterpart is the Torquasm Rao.

    When's the last time Tor-Vo was even implemented by Superman? This technique's power seems to be matched only by it's user's unreliability.

    Ages and ages.

    Although, one thing I liked about it was that Clark was able to teach Lois it and that she was actually able to use it.  That mirrors our conventional understanding of martial arts and Krypton where- at the time- they would have been mere mortals trying to focus their (ki, chi, psychic energies, or what not) such that anyone trained to could do it... not just sun-dipped Kryptonians.

    IIRC, wasn't Max Lord the last person to have this technique used on him?

    I was running through my comics in preparation for NYCC and came across an issue with Klurkor... another Kryptonian / Kandorian martial art that is physical but a "soft" style like some tai chi chuan.

    it's a mental martial art using chi or something. When superman uses it he can increase his resistance, see people's chi, know people's phisical weaknesses, increase his own durability and resistance to his weaknesses, absorb the opents strength and use it against them, creat phycic armour, create a phyic avatar, mess with peoples perseptions, read the minds of certain people and transport his enimies to a battle groud of his mental chosing. it's a like a crazy mind power technic that everybody can learn, but superman is pretty good with it
