Character » Superman appears in 9590 issues.
Not sure if this has been done before, but I just wanted to know who you guys prefer as the voice of Superman. Honestly, I'm completely indifferent on the issue. I think they both do a fantastic job and I'm happy to hear either one play Supes. George Newbern took over as the voice of Superman in the Justice League animated series. This was because Tim Daly (who had played Superman in the DC Animated Universe up until that point) was bound to a contract for the TV series The Fugitive. After that, both are commonly associated with being the voice of Superman as much as Kevin Conroy is the voice of Batman or Mark Hamill is the voice of Joker. They have both been cast pretty evenly in the amount of roles as Superman and It's very hard for me to decide which one I prefer. It is worth noting however that as a kid watching the DCAU, I never would've guessed that the voice-actor for Justice League was different than the voice-actor for Superman: The Animated Series. Therefore, when reading comics I read Superman as Tim Daly, but since then I've realized it's probably either an amalgamation of the two, or I switch without even noticing. I voted for option C.
Tim Daly's latest performance as Superman was for the animated movie Justice League: Doom (2012)
George Newbern's latest performance as Superman was for the upcoming video game Injustice: Gods Among Us (2013)
Tim Daly is my favorite. Newbern always sounded like he was trying hard.

He did Superman vs The Elite, too.
I'm more of a Newbern fan, but both are excellent.

I know, I just saw it on Netflix the other night. I thought the performance was excellent and it was part of what inspired me to make this thread. I was just listing what his most recent performance of Superman was.
I know it's been a month, but... what's so different? I have all 14 DC DTV's and all of Superman: TAS and JL/JLU on DVD, watched them growing up, and have watched clips of both on YouTube: I can't tell them apart!

Me neither honestly! That's part of why I posed this question and put "They're both great" as an option (which I voted for.) I was just wondering if anyone had a preference of one over the other, because to me, they sound very similar.
Both are good but I have to go with the original, Daly. As long as either is the voice in the DVD-features, I'm good (I'm sorry, but given the choice I'd rather have them then any "mainstream" celebs doing VA work. Not that they're bad, but I want consistency).
Both. Sometimes they sound the same to me.
It's easily Tim Daly, but George Newbern is as good of a second choice as it gets.
Tim Daly put in brilliant performances in each episode of STAS.
During the early days of Newbern on JL, the voice acting was pretty bad, coupled with the crap writing of the Superman character. However, Newbern improved loads as early as the second season of JL.
I hope they kick each other's ass.
Tim Daly if you want a nice, down to earth Superman.
George Newbern if you want a no nonsense, leader of the JL Superman.
