Sent to Earth as an infant from the dying planet Krypton, Kal-El was adopted by the loving Kent family and raised in America's heartland as Clark Kent. Using his immense solar-fueled powers, he became Superman to defend mankind against all manner of threats while championing truth, justice, and the American way!
Story is great, the art is such a turn off though. I have only read the story 3/4 times, cause the bad art. If Yu was as good as he is now back then, then the book would be an all time favorite. His wolverine artwork and his Superior artwork are simply amazing, but Birthright? Not so much. It's ugly.

I think the colors didn't give prominence to the art. Yeah Yu's art was very early in his career but it was nice, the inks were heavier but I think the colors made it seem too blank.
I actually just finished it again this morning lol. One of the best Superman stories ever. In the top 3 for me. That said, definitely different from how I would write the origin.
It was a boring book. Decent art, except for mama-EL's face. For one panel she looked like the ugly chick from the shining. You know what I'm talking about.
