I'll always maintain that Pippi Longstocking is strongest.

Superman Thoughtbot > Rune King Thor > Featless Superman Prime One Million > Pre-Crisis Superman > Odinforce Thor > Pre Crisis Superman > KC Superman > Pre Crisis Superman > Golden Age (Earth 2) Superman > Current Superman > Pre Crisis Superman > All-Star Superman > Pre Crisis Superman > 1930's Original Superman

Why so much Pre Crisis Supermen? Cause that's how the Emperor of PIS rolls... :D

Prime 1 million doesnt need feats when he is above Superman from the 5th dimension and above kal-kent. Enough said there. Thats above Rune king Thor and Thoughtbot.

Superman. Who else can lift 200 quintillion tons? And I know that was All-Star Superman, but it`s basically the same character.

Superman

#20 Posted by PowerHerc (81637 posts) - - Show Bio

Superman is the strongest superhero ever. Always has been, always will be.

This means he's stronger than Thor, too.

#21 Posted by Thor's hammmer (7184 posts) - - Show Bio

Thor is stronger from what i've seen. He just operates at a higher level I'd put superman closer to Gladiator or the masterson version of Thor based on feats.

#22 Posted by MrBigBalls (236 posts) - - Show Bio

Supes, and All Star Supes would absolutely decimate Thor in a strength contest

#23 Posted by moviegeek17 (1474 posts) - - Show Bio

i suppose it depends on which version of the characters we're talking about but regardless I would still say that superman is stronger than thor in most versions with potentially an exception or two.

@Thor's hammmer: i think thor hammer hit u on the head when you were a baby, REALLY.

#30 Posted by Alpha (7322 posts) - - Show Bio

Superman if you go by feats.

And Thor isn't even Marvel's strongest.

#31 Posted by Jekylhyde14 (746 posts) - - Show Bio

I'm going with my boy on this one. Show 'em, Supes:

Fighting an Elephant
#32 Posted by Kuzman123 (230 posts) - - Show Bio

Current sups

Current thor

this is a tie.

#33 Posted by Queso6p4 (1430 posts) - - Show Bio

I've gotta go with Supes on this one.

#34 Posted by Skyfire (706 posts) - - Show Bio

He's stronger, but not by much.

#35 Posted by catfightfan (568 posts) - - Show Bio

Thor is stronger, but Superman is quicker and faster, so let's call it a tie!

#36 Posted by ShadowHuntR (426 posts) - - Show Bio

@catfightfan: Stop being so blind. If you don't know a thing about Superman, don't post anything next time.

#37 Posted by Hawk80 (351 posts) - - Show Bio

Superman's strenght is even beyond Thor's imagination...

Were there people on Earth when this happened?

#41 Edited by YoggSaron (812 posts) - - Show Bio

@TheGoldenOne: I don't know, probably. It was a retelling of a pre-crisis story and logic was pretty much tossed aside as was common in those days.

#42 Posted by TheGoldenOne (38849 posts) - - Show Bio
@YoggSaron: Yeah, I was wondering because that feat makes no sense.
#43 Posted by Onemoreposter (3950 posts) - - Show Bio

Wow. Great post of feats ShadowHuntR. Even there though we see how much supes powers can differ from writer to writer. A superman who can hold a black hole in his palm wouldn't need a giant harness or GLs help to move a small planet.

In any case superman>thor.

I've only been around the boards for a few month but I've seen more Superman vs Thor threads than any other kind've battle.

#44 Posted by DogSoldier88 (472 posts) - - Show Bio

I'm going to go with Thor at present. The thread didn't specify that it was a comparison of all time, all versions, of the characters.

Different versions of Superman, who aren't Superman from Earth-1, or from the current timeline, shouldn't even count, in my opinion, because they are not OUR Superman, THE Superman. The same can be said for Thor. Temporary plot related boosts are good to point out on a "Who has the greatest all-time feats" contest - but the question here is about the character's strength, and it implies the current versions of the characters. Anyway, looking at the current versions of both characters - which are, in effect, our official versions of both these characters - The winner is Thor.

Superman is now a younger, less powerful (than past incarnations), and requires Kryptonian technology to boost his powers. His stats, based on the feats of his new series so far, put him on par with top tier, earth-bound heroes in Marvel. So far, after reading Superman #1- #5, he doesn't show any feats that other 100-ton class Marvel heroes wouldn't be able to do in exactly the same situation (which I think makes him a better Superman than the cosmic level Supermans of the past). So Thor takes this stat contest (not for all time, all versions, but for right now).

#45 Posted by DogSoldier88 (472 posts) - - Show Bio

@majestic99: Thor is Marvel's #1 what? He's not the most popular (X-Men), best selling (X-Men, Spider-man), most powerful (pick your stat, and Thor is never at the top of the list - but near the top in many stats),.... I mean really - Marvel's #1 what?

#46 Posted by ssejllenrad (12847 posts) - - Show Bio

I'm a hardcore Supes fan and I'm appalled by some of the pro-Supes biassed posts in here. In depends on the version really.

#47 Posted by tchalla3000 (54 posts) - - Show Bio

Superman stronger. They already fought in JLA vs Avengers. Superman caught the hammer when it was swung at him, then Superman knocked him out with a punch.

That's Pre-Flashpoint Superman vs Classic Thor. One version against another. Some versions of Thor are stronger than some versions of Superman and vice versa.

#49 Posted by Galathanos (44 posts) - - Show Bio

Superman absolutely no contest

#50 Posted by ssejllenrad (12847 posts) - - Show Bio

People should start realizing that there are different versions of the two characters. Plainly stating one is stronger than the other, regardless of version, is just plain fanboyism.
For example. Rune King Thor has done much more than featless supposedly omnipotent Gold Superman Prime One Million. But Superman thoughtbot is above the multiverse so he's stronger. But Odinforce Thor is much stronger than pre-flashpoint/post-crisis Supes. Etc.....

@majestic99
: What's the point of showing feats from different versions of varying canons? Especially the last one (All Star). Silver Age towing multiple planets is already a feat waaaaaay above above that of All-Star. Note that the earth is 6.6 Sextillion tons. And to differentiate them, 1 sextillion is 10^21 (10^36 in Brit) compared to 1 quintillion which is just 10^18 (10^30 in Brit).
