The return of Hank Henshaw?

Also Majestic and Spartan while we are at it ....

Looks like your friendly Nieghbourhood Cyborg is back in the Flesh for now ... He is working on Cybernetics, so Guessing this is a new back story for him. Note this is not confirmed as Hank in this scan (they call him Dr. Henshaw). It is from one of this weeks comics .... He is working with Dr. Stone (Cyborg's Dad) in some capacity.

Edit: Team 7..hope this links back to Superman eventually, seems they are bringing back Spartan, and Majestic might be in the works.

The Hand is pretty much trademarked...

All in All, with the revamped Steel design in Rotworld (Swampthing and Animal-man), I like where DC is moving. Just hope they keep up the cool designs for the returning characters.

It looks like Ladytron and Hank Henshaw will get similar origins. I hope DC will use Majestic in current time also. It looks like rebooted Spartan has similar origin from pre-flashpoint. My guess is a reboot of Wildcats should appear soon.

Eh I hope Henshaw is not reduced to be a generic cyborg,he's a living energy essence.

So Cyborg Superman is now... Just a cyborg. Gee, way to destroy a character DC.

My main concern is that Ladytron, Hank, Spartan are of the same tech so should we expect repetition? Than there is the link to Cyborg and Red Tornado as these 2 groups seemed to spawn from scientists that collaborate.

Also, are Braininac and Metallo going to eventually adopt a similar MO like they did before (rebuilding themselves from junk).

I'm just not sure how much originality there will be once some of the characters get really powerful.

I hope that's not going to be the final draft on Henshaw.

DC is run by hacks.

@AtPhantom: @entropy_aegis: To be fair, Henshaw started off as just a cyborg in the old universe as well. He only got his Superman/Terminator form after meeting Mongul. This issue takes place 5 years in the past, so maybe Hank has a more recognizable form in the present.

@drgnx: I really hope that that doesn't stay and he gets a cooler look.

Agreed, still can't complain, DC launched 2 characters we have been asking for. I just hope they don't lose their Superman connection (Hank as an enemy and Maj as a Rival).

I really want the Superman-Cyborg back in both appearance and power set, but will allow DC a year or 2 to build towards that.

Good points.

Fair enough. But it's still a completely different backstory. CS, despite his somewhat gimmicky nature, was actually a fairly complex character. His desire and inability to die directly feeds into his guilt and self-loathing over the things he's done. He's someone who can't live with himself because ultimately, everything that happened to him, to his wife, to his crewmates, was his fault. Now they've completely negated it all by making his transformation someone else's fault. They took one of the central pillars of his character, and yanked it out.

It's like the same they did with Dr. Doom in the movie. His whole character doesn't work if Reed is actually responsible for scarring him.

Good point, Superman was the center of his hatred, before, now he might become a Majestic/Spartan villain???
