@squalleon: I feel the same way, he said after a several day lapse between replies. There needs to be a balance between the man and the myth and past writers have struck that balance much better than current writers. Superman is both a man of the people who's capable of connecting with humanity and its people despite being from an ancient and advanced alien civilisation whilst also being a symbol for representing the best of humanity's most positive and inspirational attributes and attitudes. Sometimes that makes him a simple character, sometimes it's more complex. But Pak for me has become far more miss than hit, let alone the atrocious Superman/Wonder Woman writing that these kids seem to think is good enough for an award.

The kids are kids. We loved mediocre things too when we were younger(cough shonen anime cough). Sometimes some stupid action and a bit of romance here and there is more than enough to complete what you want. Plus it is Superman and Wonder Woman, some kids would vote for the names alone.
