Superman fights so good, they even named a punch after him. SUPERMAN PUNCH y'all!
Superman
Character » Superman appears in 18942 issues.
Sent to Earth as an infant from the dying planet Krypton, Kal-El was adopted by the loving Kent family and raised in America's heartland as Clark Kent. Using his immense solar-fueled powers, he became Superman to defend mankind against all manner of threats while championing truth, justice, and the American way!
Superman's fighting style.
Mmm... Yeah he can fight but I barely see he fighting with a style more than boxing (and not so professional), he has a little of fighting skills but not even at the level of Robin
Usually is just punch, punch, punch, punch till he and the villain end in the other side of the city , destroying a few buildings in the way

Superman's combat flowchart:
1 - Punch
2 - - Did the punch work?
3 - -- Yes - fight's over
4 - -- No - Punch harder, return to line 2.
Finally found
not every opponent can be one-shotted by the blue boyscout, (not everyone is batman without plot armor). sometimes supes finds himself against opponents who can null his powers or even have equal level of stat points. His pimp hand might be strong against women, but it can get broken against the like of doomsday (back then) or darkseid (before he jobbs like a pumpkin). Because the all american hero is not all about two fists, he is drawn with a body and two feet. He should use em more.

He was a small town farm boy so I am guessing the basic boxing maneuvers plus a few wrestling moves.
Wrestling takedowns should be done more considering his megaton strength , he should be able to toss his opponents around like used paper cups since not many of them weigh more than he can carry. His speed should also be used more (rapid flurry punches and the like). I like the man of steel but the writers should be more creative in fight scenes.
As far as I know, Supes is a pretty good boxer, being trained by wildcat and whatnot, knows some wrestling due to Wonder Woman, has extensive knowledge of pressure points thanks to Batman and knows that weird Torquasm Vo and Torquasm Rao

Fact is when your Superman you don't really NEED a fighting style lol.
Tell that when he died fighting doomsday, or when he has trouble with Atlas
Superman does in fact know many martial arts.
For instance, in Superman: World of New Krypton, when asked to accept a challenge by Gor, one of Zod's commanders, Superman remarks that he has been trained in hand to hand combat by the "earth's best proponents."
Not only does he know martial arts, but he has also been taught to watch for his opponents weaknesses. He continues by saying that he has seen Gor's whole catalogue while Gor has no information on him.
Then he proceeds to hit Gor at pressure points with his index and middle ringers to stun him and ultimately defeat him.
Superman relies on his super powers way too much is a problem, though he can fist fight just not as good as wonder woman.
he kicked in the movie version of superman but only while fighting general zog and the other two. Normally he is stronger and trying to fine a way to hold back and not kill whoever he is fighting so he uses his hands which he has more control over.

He tends to punch stuff. From what I hear, he is supposedly some great combatant, but it only seems to show when it's needed.
Wouldn't mind some spice in his fighting style, but not to where he is a master martial artist.
LOL like wolverine and his claws then

In the New 52 captain comet said superman has formidable brawling skills. I dont think superman really needs martial arts, and it looks out of charecter when he does it anyway
Not really , the new52 superman in his first JLA appearance kneed a parademon soo hard that the jaw was literally flying off, him not using his legs are just as absurd as batman villains not going for the mouth. Sure some other superheroes put restriction on his powers, but putting restrictions on 'legs' is ridiculous.
I think Superman is better suited for a melee/striking/grappling style created through some basic training and philosophies encountered throughout the various galaxies/planets he's been to, and then engineered by himself into a technique unique to his abilities. I'm all about the martial arts characters but I think its a shame when Superman is written as one. He could/should have something much more innovative in my opinion.
Superman does know martial arts...in some issue from World of New Krypton, Superman overpowers Non using martial arts (or knowledge of pressure points) from Bruce.

There's a scan of it on the first or second page I believe.
