Really don't like the style of animation they used in this. Other than that it looks alright.

Okay, so with this one all ready to come out I hope we will have some news soon about the next DC Cartoon Movie. I would love to see a Blackest Night or Judas Contract film. But what I would honestly love to see is a Hellblazer cartoon movie. Could we get a Dangerous Habits movie?

animation is so goofy and cartoony and the voices sound really bad especially lois. man this couldve been so good based on the plot and original comic..

Its time they give Supes the anime treatment...

so disappointed by this. "What's so wrong about truth, justice, and the American way?" is one of my favorite Superman stories of all time, but this horrible animation just ruins it. i really expected more from the usually stellar DC animated movies.

Supes looking down at Skull "You've gotten bigger."

Skull "That's what she said."

The art looks crappy as EMH

#9 Posted by Fantasgasmic (1071 posts) - - Show Bio

Ugh. I can't get over how bad the character designs are. It's a shame that I have no desire to watch what I'm sure is a great to decent flick.

Terrible art, what a waste!

George Newbern as Superman? Loving it. I'm so glad they're adapting this storyline. It's one of my favourites.

When there is a glowing skulled villain that is disintegrate civilians, make sure you stay where he can see you and don't forget to be as loud as possible and finally don't forget the most important rule, never run away when the villain spots you.

Yeah, civilians really need to start running when they see the villain instead of sitting around like an idiot wondering what they should do. Just take off and run for it!

Did they just use part of the Superman: Doomsday soundtrack when supes chucks skull onto the rooftop?

From what I've seen so far this looks like it is going to be good.

#19 Posted by Webjaker (366 posts) - - Show Bio

Why is this drawn like Tiny toons or New Scooby Doo??

I would like to say that comics and cartoons should be judged solely on there substance: story and character, but honestly, if they look like crap ... you'll never know

"You've gotten bigger."...really? That aside it looks great!

Don't even say that.

Ignoring the fact that most anime AND American cartoons are animated in Korea (including the DCAU and yes, even your beloved Naruto is actually drawn in Korea, not Japan), Superman is american. American animated. And this story is based on "What's so funny about Trust, Justice and the American way?". It really is close to blasphemy to even say something like that, and disrespectful to the art style of generations of artists that have drawn for Superman, and every other American comic, ever.

I think the animations was trying to make it look more like Doug Mahnke's art.

I think its time for a new generation of Superman. The one like Injustice or new 52 would look pretty good.

Great movie. Better than Under the Red Hood. Animation was top notch and so were all the voice actors. Sad to see them kill of Atomic Skull though :(

they tried to make the animation in batman under the red hood look like mahnkes art too since he pencilled more in the comic series than the other artists did, and that animation was terrific, unlike this goofy art.

Yup but I also think that they wanted to make it goofy to set the tone of the movie. Like you know to show that Superman was portrayed like a character like that. Because you can tell that towards the end the style changed dramatically. So it led me believe its done on purpose stylistically. Alas, I'm not the biggest fan of the animations myself so I'm blaming Joe Kelley who is also doing ultimate spiderman, but Superman vs the elite is ofcourse done much better, just not as good as the others I've seen. But like I said, it could be done on purpose and I think the story is very mature, dark and edgy. Even with the animations I still consider it a top notch production and didn't regret spending money on it.
