I mean seriously What The Actual Hell? This issue was already pushed back to August 27th but that was fine since we would at least be getting the last 3 issues on a monthly basis. Now it's back to being a bi monthly title again which I have had enough of already. Still, I'll keep buying these issues as it remains a damn good series even with all the delays hampering the pacing.
LOL I thought they were serious when they said September would be the end. I though they finally had their stuff together and had it done. Nope. This is actually very funny to me. I'm sure the right with the trinity vs wraith will be exciting, but wraith will probably lose and lex luthor apparently still has plans of his own and there seems to be too much going on now and I am starting to care about this series less.
Lol. It should be called "Superman Unreliable"
"Superman Unchained: Future's End....and still for the 9th issue"
Yeah. You'd think by now steps would have been taken to rectify the situation. You'd think they'd try to solve the delay problems rather than just persist with them.
@pperspectiveandreality: Tbh, they should have just release it as an OGN or something instead, they must have had some idea of how unreliable Jim Lee would have been.
Of course it got delayed, did anyone expect otherwise.
I did.
My main issue with it is that his art hasn't been that good. If it was Jim's very bet work I'd be okay with the delays. But it's been okay, by Jim Lee's standards, at the very best.
Don't even remember me that.
I've really been liking the Unchained stories, but these constant changes in release dates, have me fed up.
@toplel: it's third. Superman and, for a while, Action Comics were both better than it.

That's your opinion.

Oh, well, it was a terrible comic anyway. Easily the worst of all New 52 Superman books. Can't say I will miss it in the slightest.
Even Lobdell's Superman? Even the pre Lobdell era Superman?
I don't know if you are overreacting or your taste is...weird to say the least.

Dream on.

Oh, most certainly. Say what you will about Lobdell, at least his Superman comics weren't boring. Stupid, yes. Boring, no. Not to mention his version of Superman was far more entertaining.

Ok, I made my mind, bad taste it is. Sorry but some opinions shouldn't be acceptable :P

Agree about Action Comics, but not sure about Superman title. When was it better than Unchained?

Well, he was. Arrogant, brash dickhead Superman beats bland, vanilla Superman any day for me. ;-)

Yeah, but that isn't Superman :P If you want someone like that you shouldn't be reading Superman in the first place. Anyway its not your fault but DC's that want to appeal to the masses and as a result not having a clear direction about where they want to go with Supes.

I didn't say I want that version of Superman as the default New 52 one, though. I merely said that I find it preferable to bland, vanilla Superman. Ideally, neither of them would be the default Superman.
@sanohibiki: right now, under Geoff. I don't mean under Lobdell...gross.
@bezza: I'll admit that it was the best when it started out, but now? I think he started this run when Lobdell was on both books.
In two issues of Johns' Superman, I already care about every character presented than I do about anyone in Unchained. Plus, Snyder's Superman has no heart, no humor and waaaay too much Lois.
A Superman story without heart and humor is not a very interesting one IMO.
Yeah only a simpleton wouldn't see the heart and humour in Unchained but to each their own I guess. Johns' Superman will probably take Unchained's place as the best current Superman book in time though.
Considering the twist in Superman #33, I don't think that time will be far away :P I won't spoil it for you.
If the book had a faster pace, it would already be in the top. The only reason it isn't, is because the direction and plot isn't clear yet.

I'll see what this twist is tomorrow then. And yeah the plot and pacing are what keep this book back I guess.
@lvenger: if you want to say the heart stems from Lois and Superman, I'll give you that. I don't like their interactions --especially since Lois is the damsel in distress in this book--but it is there.
Humor? Oh, buddy, you're going to have to show me these pages of a funny Superman in Snyder's Unchained. Any Supermam book drawn my Tony Daniels or Jim Lee, though it will be beautiful, will be difficult to make humorous. They draw Superman too serious for me.
Come to think of it, why are people surprised? isn't this series suppose to be bi-monthly?
Believe me majority isn't surpriced just fed up.
Didn't expect anything else from Jim Lee. I am getting tired of all of these delays but I can't just drop the best Superman book out there. I will wait and wait until it comes out.
Plus if you dropped it and wanted the have the rest of the story, you would have to buy the trade which includes the whole series and is very expensive for reading two missing issues. D@mn DC and your clever manipulation :P
Well Jim Lee does have a newborn kid, and Snyder is pretty busy.
Well Jim Lee's kid is almost one year old. And a newborn can only excuse you so far, since Lee knew where he was going when he decided to draw Unchained. And Snyder has finished the script. He even twitted about it.

Indeed my friend. :P
@squalleon: Yeah but C'mon, the guy is already pretty old, and this is his first kid. If I have to wait because I know he's having a good time with his son, I can accept that.

I can't :P
It is disrespectful. And he isn't late because of his kid. He is late because he is Jim Lee. He has never been on schedule. He hasn't even finished projects he started years ago.
If that was a single occurance I would understand that it was because of his family issues but Jim Lee was always a slow writer and now with his position as co-editor in chief he is worse than ever. If he knew he has so much work and responsibilities he shouldn't take project that need him to be on a monthly schedule. Or at least advertise Unchained as a bi-monthly to at least ease the pain, don't say it will be flat out montly.
@squalleon: Just be glad he's still working for DC at all. Keep in mind he's made a LOT of money in his career, and when you have a new kid all you want to do is spend time with him/her. If he wanted he could probably take a year off from DC just to spend time with his family. Honestly even if he decided to do that I'd be ok with it too, because once again I'm fine missing out if I know he gets more time with his family.

So what's his excuse for All-Star Batman and Europa?

I don't love his art, especially his current one, I prefer artists with more individual styles, like Cooke,Kuder, Samnee, Morales(only when he has time, the guy can't do ongoings) and I start having a soft spot for JRJR. So being on Unchained for me doesn't mean much. I am only glad that his name brought some new Superman readers but thats as far as it goes. And again, I am not. You don't take responsibilities like these if you know you can't fulfill them. And don't get me wrong, I know that a newborn is a responsibility but Lee was ALWAYS late, even before the kid. He isn't late because he is with his family, he is late because he is Jim Lee and he has a tradition on never being on schedule.
