Awesome!

Awesome. I love the way Brainiac is designed in this. He's just scary.

April 18....was Superman's anniversary.

I like the voice acting. All Star Superman was calm and slightly omnipotent (Which was perfect, considering that's the character Grant Morrison wrote), while this is more like Supes in the New 52 (Younger).

Remove the tubes from Brainiac's head and he looks alarmingly like a certain Martian.

I think I'm going to enjoy this movie.

I remember really liking that story arc. I'll give this a look but probably won't buy.

@citizenbane: Hahahahaha .... your right they did nothing to commemorate Superman's 75th. But am sure if it were Batman's 75th, comicvine would be on party mode with tons of articles about Batman.

#13 Posted by lifeboy (1675 posts) - - Show Bio

Looks like dc has the animation part down. I hope that they include a showcase featurette. They have gotten away from that last 3 or four releases.

Boomer must be a pretty good voice actor....I couldn't really here any of his voice in there

#17 Posted by AkaBoAli (44 posts) - - Show Bio

Looks good, DC are always better with their animations.

Looks awesome! Yeah I can get over the yuppie way Superman said "So you must be Brainiac" so this will be great. Really like how DC is starting to delve into doing specific storylines for their animated films like this. I'd love to see Escape from Bizarroworld myself as an animated.

i REALLY MISS SUPERMAN´S RED SPEEDOS

Always ending before it even begins

Boomer actually sounds pretty good as Superman. Certainly better than some of the other voice actors who have been in the DC Animated Originals, not including Daly or Newbern of course. Still not sold on the animation though.

Yeah it is quite surprising they didn't even write anything on it. It's a big number and all too.

@lifeboy: They stopped doing the DC Showcase shorts after the Catwoman one.

I think it looks pretty good. Better than the animation from Vs. The Elite, that's for sure.

Oh I agree there. I loved Vs The Elite in terms of voice acting and plot and it still remains one of my favourite original animated movies from DC but that animation was terrible.

This looks badass! I can't wait for this movie to come out.

Is the box art by Ben Oliver? It really looks like Oliver's art in Superman's face.

Why do batman movies get the best Animation. But superman movies get crap animation

#33 Posted by knightofthechronicle (721 posts) - - Show Bio

Okay, I've warmed up the animation, I think I'm going to pick this up.

Superman vs the Elite was an amazing story, it deserved better art. And this is going to offend some people, but I think the same for Superman: Doomsday. Sure it was based on the animated series art, but there is significantly better art out there now. Superman has looked his best in Superman/Batman movies, like Crisis on Two Earths, and particularly Superman/Batman: Apocalypse. It really seems like a conspiracy, lol.

I believe I am going to enjoy this. That one scene has given me early approval.

#36 Posted by youmessinwithme (1203 posts) - - Show Bio

Has regular Braniac ever been depicted this strong compared to Superman before? especially in their first encounter?

They were all Bruce Timm and Batman fan produced, so that conspiracy might actually be legit .

#38 Posted by deaditegonzo (3690 posts) - - Show Bio

@mia26: Seriously, this will never happen, and it shouldnt as it would be unfair to more neglected fans if it did, but I wish theyd redo Superman: Doomsday, with the same story and voice acting, etc, but just all new Grade A art. That movie is super emotional, but it loses some impact, and looks less 'mature', due to its art.

The animation is good. The character designs are somewhat odd but I have warmed up to them.

Yes.

From Superman: Brainiac, the comic book this movie is based on

Yeah, as shown above, in this arc, Brainiac is a total beast and utterly outclasses Supes.

I'm really exited for this brainiac is one of my favourite superman story's

You know it really pisses me off when they change the titles like this. In the Superman/Batman case I could understand it, but here at least they could have kept Brainiac in the name, like Brainiac Unleashed or something like that. Sure it would sound cheesy, but at least that way you know what character is featured.

You know, if I could fly and someone threw me, I would ... decelerate and land on my feet. Just sayin'.

#44 Posted by weaponx (1566 posts) - - Show Bio

Just saw the movie. Very disappointed. It was pretty boring.

#45 Posted by Deranged Midget (17962 posts) - - Show Bio

Not too shabby! Looking forward to this as it was a rather impressive arc! Animation looks to be an improvement over Superman vs the Elite! :D
