Can someone please give me a few of the greatest Superman graphic novels? I'm planning on buying All Star Superman, and I was hoping for some more ideas..

Specifically I'm looking for the kind of books that you read and are just like "yeah, that's Superman!" like the whole warm fuzzy feeling (hence my interest in All Star).

So, any suggestions?

It's not strictly Superman, but Kingdom Come is great.

@redwingx: I didn't miss it, sorry my original question wasn't very clear.

What I meant was that I'm looking for some Superman stories similar in tone to All Star Superman, as opposed to just the general stories. Something a bit slower without as much action.

I decided to make it a new thread so that I could get a few more answers than I would have if I had just posted it as a reply to the other thread.

@minisaladfresh: I think the All Star Superman version of Superman is story specific. I've never really been able to find any stories similar, which sucks because the All star Superman is the definitive Superman for me.

Honestly I loved Red Son, it's my personal all time favorite Superman story. This issue also made me love Lex Luthor and that's how I imagine him. Best incarnation IMO.... although I don't have a plethora of knowledge on the character

Action.Comics 775 is one of my all time fav issues

Superman Beyond is just classic Morrison. Trippy as hell and superman on a scale never seen before

JLA 1 million is not really about Supes but I loved it anyway

For the Man Who has Everything and Whatever happened to the man of tomorrow are so awesome

Secret Identity is an elseworlds kinda thing , but its one of the best and most moving superman stories ever.

and finally as cliched as it is , I will still never forget " for this was a day.....a Superman died!"
