I guess they are going to be more liberal on the no killing rule. What do you think?
Superman
Character » Superman appears in 18942 issues.
Sent to Earth as an infant from the dying planet Krypton, Kal-El was adopted by the loving Kent family and raised in America's heartland as Clark Kent. Using his immense solar-fueled powers, he became Superman to defend mankind against all manner of threats while championing truth, justice, and the American way!
Superman killing in the new 52
I've been saying all along Supes had been applying lethal force since AC #1. Throwing a guy through a wall is a death sentence and causing tanks to explode with a guy barely getting out is pretty damn lethal too.
Eh, I think I'll reserve judgement until we learn more about these new Parademons. They do seem more machine than organic. However, if it's true, he wouldn't be the first incarnation of Superman that's killed (see Superman Vol. 2 #22).
I kinda agree that parademons don't count. It may be horrible to think that... now I'm inspired to write a story! The new age of civil rights and liberties: the Plight of the Parademon! (I did adore Ragdoll's Parademon, so clearly there is some potential for individuality and expressive sentience)

Yeah Parademons don't really count imo, they've always been cannon fodder. But Superman has killed in the past, Byrne-era Superman killed Pocket Universe Zod in I wanna say 1988. That led to him leaving earth during the Exile story arc.

Since when does Superman not kill? I thought that was just Batman that had that rule.
They share the rule.

I guess that makes sense then.

He killed at least three people in the past by regret it and by accident IIRC.

To be fair, this is an entirely new Superman with a human agenda in mind. This is an entirely new universe: take it for what it is.
Like I have said there V

Is just that now they're being more realists (please don't tell me that if u had super powers u would resist of killing evil kidnapper aliens, I don't >:D)
I've always thought that the "no killing" rule was a bit inconsistent. It seems that just about any time the Justice League encounters an alien hoard, they start blowing up spaceships or throwing around exploding battarangs. I wish they would actually address this in universe, but it seems the rule is only human life is sacred. Evil aliens are expendable. Artificial intelligence also gets shafted quite a lot. Then there are the spiritual villains...
To be fair, Superman regularly uses destructive and outright brutal violence on his foes, such that if his foes weren't immortal, capable of reincarnation, or not Super Powered, it would be fatal. Superman decapitated Metallo numerous times pre-flashpoint, which while not totally fatal, was still brutal. Superman does kill, or at least unloads some brutal violence that would ordinarily kill as necessary.
