Rocketed to Earth as an infant from the doomed planet of Krypton, young Kal-El was adopted by the loving Kent family and raised in America's heartland. Using his immense solar-fueled powers, he became Superman to defend mankind from oppression while championing truth, justice, and the American way!
do you think the new 52 superman will love kara i hope so cause the tv show smallville ignored that asspect of clark kent. i would think superman would cherish kara shes all he has of home i hope the new 52 explores that with them as time goes on.
@RideASpaceCowboy: Superman phrased that very carefully. The MARRIAGE of cousins on Krypton was unlawful, but that doesn't mean he can't have a booty call

Not to be a downer, but does anyone else feel like Kara was shoe horned into canon? At least in the beginning? I mean...Krypton was destroyed completely, yet the city of Argo somehow survived because of a dome? If they could have saved an entire city, why not just make domes in several other cities? Or move everyone to Argo?
I find Kara to be ok...but I just dunno. Krypto's story at least made sense(being a test pilot for a prototype rocket to make sure Kal-El would be ok).

it's not "believable" as much as it can be at comics :-P
Because Supes was supposed to be the "last son of Krypton" and suddenly half of Krypton is roaming in Space! Kara,H'el,Krypto, the phantom zone Villians....and the list goes on.
Kara would had a better origin if it was a time travel one.Kal could go to Krypton before its destruction and make a favor to Zor-El by saving his daughter
@Squalleon: True I know that comics, can sometimes just have really strange backstories. But even so, looking at it, it should have just been Supes and Krypto given their stories made sense and are actually intertwined with one another....I could see the time traveling thing work though.
I just feel looking at some backstories of some characters like "What in the world??" like they weren't even thought of, and were just made just to get a character in.
