Looks pretty good, even if it is that old school animation a la the Justice League cartoons.
To be honest myself, I had never even heard of it.
I saw this when I bought my 300 DVD, it looks awesome, I can't wait to see it. The art is a little different, but not enough to make me not want to see it.
Just so you know, now you can re-create the Superman vs Doomsday fight, as explained in the caption of this photo:
Superman Returns was far from a travesty. I quite liked it.
I saw Superman Doomsday at Comic-Con, and it was pretty good. It wasn't superb, and of course didn't live up to the JLU, but it was pretty good.
I did forget to mention though, that the fights are simply the best animated fights I have ever seen. Period.
-Lord Of Darkness- says:
"Didnt this battle already commence!? and superman got killed?"
It's in a movie, if that's what you're asking.
Alec Baldwin pwns, plus some of it is gonna be amazing, but some, like the end, and if they bring in all the clones, is gonna be terrible

Enough?
Right...
Superman / Doomsday
===================
What can I say, from the opening sequence I was glued to the screen.
The entire movie had an epic feel to it, something that was sadly lacking in the Superman Returns movie. The hype that had surrounded this movie however was justified. Admittedly it wasn't faithful to the original storyline, there were no appearances by the Justice League, Supergirl, Mongul... nor did the destruction of Coast City occur, something that was vital to the original plot, but needless to say, I was amazed at how they had pulled this off so successfully.
Doomsday, something I was worried about, was done almost to perfection. Given the style of the artwork I was expecting something akin to a feature length episode of Justice League Unlimited or the Animated Superman cartoon; I was actually quite shocked when I found the movie to be shaped more for adults than children. The fight scene between Superman and Doomsday was amazing, to see Superman literally beaten to death was something I had longed to see on the screen, but feared they would never show.
Another of the major plot changes was the "Reign of the Supermen" storyline, in which various Supermen come back to reclaim the name. In this version we are treated to only one Superman returning, a clone made by Lex Luthor in an attempt to control the new Superman. This is reminiscent of the original storyline when Superboy is originally cloned from Superman, and then Lex Luthor attempts to clone his own army of Supergirl's later on. However, the storyline is Superman / Doomsday was fleshed out and actually quite interesting.
with these minor changes to the plot line also came some new bits, the story of Superman and Lois Lane's romantic involvement, and the sub plot between Martha Kent and Lois Lane bonding over the loss of Clark / Superman was quite a touching point in the movie, something that had been left out of the Superman mythos before.
Overall I was gobsmacked with this movie, the acting was amazing and the artwork, something I had been a bit apprehensive about before, was spot on for the storyline. Something else that actually caught my attention was the musical score; something that most people will agree on is a major part of any movie. The soundtrack to Superman / Doomsday was amazing; there is no other word to describe it. The death scene with Lois Lane holding a beaten, dying Superman gave me a lump in my throat at the music slowed and just the sound of the wind and Lois's sobbing could be heard.
Overall I have to give this movie 5 stars, I was shocked, amazed and at times saddened by the movie. If you haven't read the books then do so, but until you do, this is a fitting tribute to them. It may not be a faithful work, but it's certainly earned a place on my Superman shelf.

Gotta luv the hook up. I didn't read any of your review on it I can tell from the previews that its better then Superman Returns. If I had one complaint though it would be that it isn't long enough (thats what she said :P)
Sounds good :D
Haven't enjoyed an animated movie in a looooooonnnnngggg time. Maybe this'll stop the draught.
Nobody says:
"I am not a big Superman fan but this might be fun to watch him get his butt kicked:P"
LOL!
it's amazing MK... Nobody, watch the movie...
the fight scene is amazingly brutal, Superman is quite literally beaten to death... Lois has to watch while Superman pounds of him, she's close enough to get splattered by the blood (yes, it does show blood...) from Superman as Doomsday breaks him...

I did like the JLA tv show, more JLU cause of the varity of characters. So if this is like that it might be good.

It was better than I expected. Doomsday is acutally a pretty cool character. Still not a big Superman fan though.
