Superman Annual question

#1 Edited by joey2810 (3 posts) - - Show Bio

Hey guys,

Im what you say a noob to comics. So i have a real noob question that I would like to ask you all. The superman annual 1 (-2011) comics, will this be part of a 12 issue story or is it just one comic book named superman annual 1. And why are there annuals for all the characters, what does annual mean?

Sorry if you guys think these are silly questions, but any clarification would be great.

A comic book Annual is supposed to be a "special" oversized issue of your favorite monthly title put out once a year. So we have Superman Annual #1 this year and we'll probably get Superman Annual #2 next year. Back in the day, Annuals reprinted some classic stories and gave you special content like character pin-ups or maps of the Fortress of Solitude. These days Annuals give you an extra story that usually stands on its own.

I heard that this Annual, in particular, was supposed to be an introduction to a Daemonite crossover in the Superman, Grifter, and Hawkman titles. However, DC changed their minds and now we're getting a different crossover through Superman, Superboy, and Supergirl instead. So this issue is just a stand-alone story for now, but is probably important to keep in mind for future Daemonite and Helspont stories. I hope that answers your question.
