For those who didn't follow Superboy's own series don't probably still know that in the new 52 universe Superboy is the cloned son of Superman & Lois Lane. Well, actually his history is quite a mess now, but he is a clone created from the cells of Superman, Lois Lane & Jon Lane Kent (their future son, probably alternative future son after Superboy #34 and all that time travel). Anyway, Jon suffered from genetic instability and when Kon was cloned from him they took new DNA samples from Superman and Lois and created him. Confused? Well, its only getting more messier. Later we learn that 10% of Kon's DNA is unidentified. Star Labs computers can't identify it, so? What I know Star Labs has quite big database about things like this. So, only 90% Kon's DNA is from Superman, Lois & Jon and 10% from god knows who.

Anyway, thoughts? How this will affects Superman family dynamic when Superman and rest find out?

I really don't like New 52's Sb origin. Its so random and convoluted. He is a clone OF THE POTENTIAL son, of Lois and Clark from a possible future, that will never happen to be honest. Bravo Lobdell!

I actually like SB being the cloned son of Superman and Lois. Lex being the other donor and Kon having to dads was just weird. (My opinion only) Anyway, what bothers me is that 10%.

How does Lois Lane and Superman have a son when Future's End is the canon future, right now?

Jon Lane Kent’s storyline by far is worst thing New-52 (and Lobdell) done for me. Concept of JLK didn’t get much love from readers, so he was erased, but Kon-El still suffers from redundant origin problems. Honestly, been sack of donor organs for Jon – that’s New-52 origin for Superboy. Bleh…

If Superboy’ origin will be revealed?.. Hmm.

Well, Superman and Superboy were actually having better relationship than Superman and Supergirl for some time, so I’m sure there will be nothing as drastic as avoiding Kon like plague in Young Justice. Things might get awkward between them for a time, but they will get through it.

P.S. This isn’t new information though. I remember that several similar threads were made already.

I read in some of Lobdell’s interview that Jon Lane Kent was supposed to be sired from Superman and Meta-human Lois Lane (like she was right before and during Doomed event or maybe Psi War I guess). Fairly sure that this part of storyline was scrapped from development by now. Perhaps all this issue because of difference in DNA of regular human Lois and Brainiac’s emissary Lois.

DC fix this by saying Harvest stole Lexs clone while Lex was in prison.also Lex was in kon mind waiting to explain things to him the issue before they changed things in the next issue.all they need to do is say Lex got a samplof supermans dna ans a sample of lois,and created the Mutated clone,that way kon is still genetically the way DC wants him to be now,but Lex is placed back in his creation.

On a side note, I hope Superboy gets a 2nd New 52 series down the line ( kind of like Teen Titans just did ). If nothing else, at least so they can change his origin back to being a mix of Luthor & Superman, IMO that's the best origin the character can have.

Also hopefully the TV show will make Supergirl popular enough for her to get one as well.

The 10% is most likely from some of the most unknown species or characters in DCU.

He could be 10% demonite; 10% Darkseid; 10% Brainiac, who knows....

Well there's one character that knows. When Superboy brought down that meta-human prison in one of his missions, there was a woman that came out from the lava, extraterrestrial I assume, because she knew he was kryptonian and something else, that she herself considered an abomination. And I doubt she was referring to the same thing Kara (Supergirl) was when she named him Kon.

Would love to see a superboy from the couple of Superman and Wonder women.

A true power house and the stories he could be in both worlds , Wonder Womens and Supermans.

Show how hard it would be or how much fun it would be to have a super child and the things that could happen.

I bet even the Super couple would have hard time raising him.

John lane Kent was a huge mistake

Not using Lex as his human dna was silly considering that they teased it numerous times,and kons attitude,intelligence,and nod even the way he dressed made youth think of lex.

I hope the 10% is brainiac,he is a abomination alright,isn't able to travel through time and space like kon has done,and lois was a brainiac for awhile there so it could work.

Biggest mistake was Lobdell dragging in Lois Lane into the SB equation in my opinion. Just backfired. Made zero sense too and was over convoluted nonsense and got the book cancelled. Kon was just pushed aside for a character no one cared for and then killed.

yea not very smart on DC with that. They need to retcon the whole thing and wash there hands of that foolishness.

25% Batman + 20% Lex Luthor + 30% Clark Kent + 30% Lois Lane + 10% Krypto.

A retcon would be the easier way out for sure,but I believe imo they could fix every aspect of this mess if they just sat down and thought it out,I know I have thought up many different ways to fix this,they could come up with one that would work.
