I don't care says DarkSeid(in my opinion) has got to be the greatest villain within the DC Universe and Superman's greatest enemy(debatable). What makes him great is his omega beams. How it zig zags while hitting the enemy. Could you imagine if Superman had that power?
Superman
Character » Superman appears in 18940 issues.
Sent to Earth as an infant from the dying planet Krypton, Kal-El was adopted by the loving Kent family and raised in America's heartland as Clark Kent. Using his immense solar-fueled powers, he became Superman to defend mankind against all manner of threats while championing truth, justice, and the American way!
Super Omega Beams
Kind of a villianous power
This.
But personally, I wouldn't change Superman's simple, yet effective power set. It is the basic power set, the blueprint for a super-hero.
@squalleon: this, flying bricks are the golden standard

Superman did have his own omega beam powers in the Earth-2 series.
Oh, then nevermind.
@squalleon: Eh....
@the_kidd: it was clone of superman. Great series by the way
@squalleon: Eh....
What bothers you?
@squalleon: Why would you change his powerset?

I wouldn't that's the point.
@squalleon: Wow, please forgive me. I misread. Haha

No prob. Probably I didn't type it eloquently either :P
Actually Superman has the same ability to control his heat vision beams direction. Has seen through the clone of the Superman from Earth-2.
Only problem (has it's with most of Superman problems) is that he doesn't know he can do it.
If you look at it closely, you'll realize that Superman might be one of comics most powerful characters, but he's not nearly has powerful has he should/could be, because he lacks adequate training.

Actually, that's an assumption :P
It is never stated in the book, no?
As far as we know E2 Supes is amped by Darkseid's tech.

Yes, it might be. But it also might not be.
The fact that you're saying that the clone was somehow improve by use of Darkseid's tech is also one big assumption.
Was there any phrase or image that showed that that clone had been improved in any way? No. There isn't.
The clone might have simply been taught better. It could be has simple has that.
But sure I'll grant you the credit of your statement. Yes, there could've been some upgrades. But seeing that there's also no evidence to suggest that. We're both right and wrong.
A real Schrodinger situation here.

Don't get me wrong, but you tried to pass your assumption for a fact. I just did the same to show you that there is no basis for that.

There is and there isn't.
What can a person do, when the writers leave plot holes... Fill them.
That's what I did. I gave what I believe in my honest opinion to be the truth.
You can have your own theory. That doesn't matter the least seeing that we're neither right or wrong.
DC decided to leave such crucial information out, so we has fans, have the right to interpret it has we see fit (within reasonable logic of course).

I only said you tried to pass your assumption for fact. There is so confusion there :P
Yes you can make theories but that's all they are. There is no problem about it but there are not facts. I don't think that is illogical no?
Actually what Superman is firing from his eyes aren't omega beams but his plain old heat vision. That clone apparently unlike both Earth-0 and Earth-2 Supermen, was simply able to direct the beams just like Darkside does with his Omega Beams.
I believe it was due to somekind of more rigorous training, but @squalleon on the other hand believes it might be and upgraded version of Superman.
But seeing that the writers left the specifics of that important information out, we has fans, we can guess all we like, within logical thought of course.
It's quite logical of course.
But it's pointless to debate if it's fact or theory, because so many things in comics are left open to interpretation. In my mind it's a fact based on my theory that can't be proven right or wrong. But that's me using the loop hole they left. If they had given the trouble to actually hint or explain things, there wouldn't be space for doubts.
In fact this thread wouldn't even exist.
Theory, fact... it really doesn't matter to me. Because at the end of the day they weren't Omega Beams. That is simply impossible. The Omega power belongs solely to Darkseid and no one else. And for all we know both original Superman from Earth-0 and Earth-2 had that ability all along, they simply didn't/don't know they had/have it.
It would be a little like if you and me somehow gained telekinesis in our real world. You might train for years and still not develop the same skills I would, and vice versa. Our unique approach to telekinesis would set the stage for what we'd be able to and not do. The same principle can be applied to Superman, because he's the first one to admit how little he knows about his powers.
@azza04: You gotta be kidding me.
