superman > wonderwoman > supergirl > superman ??????

supermman's strength is usually set a little bit higher than WW. All kryptonians display the same abilities under a yellow sun (with a few exceptions using tactile TK) and their strength is not dependant of their body/ muscle mass but their ability metabolize sunlight. kara metabolizes sunlight at a faster rate than clark, so theoretically, should she be stronger than him?....... i'm just confused by it all............they always portray WW being slightly under superman in strength, yet they say kara is (or can be) stronger than him (by absorbing sunlight faster) but they don't show it much ..........is this just an inconsistency??

anyone have any thoughts on this?

While Superman is usually portrayed as the strongest, it really depends on how it suits whatever story it occurs in.

supergirl is not really stronger than superman in both pre-52 and post flash point universe.

Superman is the most powerful being on earth so he's stronger than both of them. But Diana is very close to his strength level

No kara is not stronger than clark,that was just pis intended to hype up supergirl.Clark holds back all the time,and kara doesn't so much.When it comes down to it supes is going to be the one to always do the impossible strength feat not kara.

Pre-crisis :supergirl was as strong as superman,but less experience than superman;

Pre-52:superman>powergirl>supergirl>wonder woman;

Now:superman(maybe)=powergirl>wonder woman>>>>>>supergirl

Pre-Crisis: Superman=Supergirl>>>>>>>>>>>WW

Post-Crisis: Superman>>>> Wonder Woman>Power Girl>Supergirl (she seemed stronger only because of her not holding back as much as Kal does, and also due to her being way stronger than him when he was her age)

New 52: Superman>>> WW/PG/Supergirl

Rebirth: Superman>>>> WW>> Supergirl.

It's plot: the difference between all characters abilities fluctuates based on the writers needs.

But for sake of throwing out ideas ...

Clark is a man, while Kara is a girl: even if she metabolized energy better, the difference could be similar to kids having more energy than adults, but not necessarily being faster or stronger. So I would expect her to have more stamina from a cardio perspective.

It could also be like how different foods are metabolized differently than others too. So if I drink water and you drink coffee, you'll have more energy, but doesn't mean you will beat me in a race or weight lifting contest, unless sustained effort is required beyond my stamina limitations.

The other point is that Superman has absorbed yellow sunlight longer so along with experience, his body is better conditioned to use the powers more effectively in light of the fact he doesn't metabolize sunlight as efficiently.
