In all seriousness,considering that we currently have more "dark" Supermen running around than normal Supermen is something that truly bugs me.

I don't think that's gonna happen. Since that title is clearly marketed to older fans who want "traditional" Superman.

Wow the urge to do a ROTS rewrite with DC is a might strong one.

That trying to write a fundamentally flawed Superhero for DC is absolutely awful f#$king idea. Look at the modern classic runs of DC characters (Waid's Flash run, Johns GL, Morrison's Superman, Batman and JLA, Azzarello and Rucka's WW). All of the writers here accept character for who he is and try to write the engaging stories accordingly. Current Superman writers want to change him to write the stories instead of changing their stories that should fit the character.

We really don't learn anything. One day a talented writer would come on title, retcon everything and all will be good in the world. Same thing that happened to Lobdell's run. Most fans here won't necessarily take anything written during these arcs for granted and I'm one of them. Really counting the days till DC hitst he reset button and never mentions this s*#tfest again.

I don't care how much you all hate superman(N52-truth)...the more hate you give him the more i will enjoy his comics. We now know that clark is a human despite his godlike powers and i rant myself all the time but i couldn't do bad things to people. So is clark he is pushed to a limit but he will recover and be the symbol of hope again. If he would be all cool despite his current status then his personality would be fake.

@arkhamace: Sure you can like Truth if you really want to. Someone has to. Must take quite a lot to like a story that ruins so much of what fans actually like about Superman in the first place.

Seriously, Azzarello? his Wonder Woman was a pale shadow of previous incarnations and he overhauled the character's mythology. I enjoyed the story, the artwork primarily, I maintain that Chiang was Wonder Woman's saving grace in the n52, without Chiang the script was really not that special. And he didn't leave the character in a better place like he promised. Apart from Chiang's fresh, vibrant, sumptuous visuals, there was really nothing praiseworthy about that run, and the story's riddled with sexist overtones.

@brunnhilde: Sure Azzarello had some missteps but characterization of WW was on par with what I read of Rucka's run. And whether you like it or not, it'll be regarded as a "modern classic" for the character.

@z3ro180: Basically, superman suffers a loss of his powers incredibly severe, he gets his SID exposed so that the whole world knows that Clark is Superman, then he gets written off as an ungrateful bastard to his girlfriend who just saved his ass twice, and helped him hide while the whole world knew he was Superman. The story arc plays into a whole lot of gloom, I have said it before, they need to humor is up a little bit and maybe bring back Mxyzptlk or something or make Superman wake up from some coma and find out he had a messed up nightmare.

@suemorphplus209: you know him waking up from a coma would be a pretty good retcon for truth. A lazy and halfed assed one but that's the standered that has been set up for the superman comics.

We've learned that what could have been a good story arc becomes complete crap once you bloat it up to span multiple titles over an extended period of time.

We learned that Superman's a bit of a jerk without his superpowers, that Lois is the one true love of his life and that Wonder Woman is just a knot in the red thread that connects the two soulemates

I like the concept of Truth. Superman losing his powers and his secret identity being exposed. But it been going on too long and is getting boring. This really should have been a 6-10 issue event, maybe twice monthly.

@brunnhilde: Nah, he can just be the hot bachelor like he was in the Silver Age. There's tons of women he can hang around with from Oa to the other end of the universe. He needs to stop being paired, life's better for a busy guy like him that way. :)

Okay, so you believe in the chastity before marriage thing. That's fine. Just because a guy goes on a date doesn't mean he neccessarily crosses the intimacy threshold.

Thanks 2 cv once again. I won't be spending anymore $ on this truth arc after the first 2 issues. I was planning on purchasing the paperbacks but i'll buy a bottle of Scotch instead.
