is Superboy prime what Superman would be if he didn't hold back? or is he just completely different and more powerful?

Superboy Prime is the Superman of Earth Prime, he was suppose to retain the classic Silver Age levels of the character (IE, when Superman was at his strongest) and was thus suppose to be crazy powerful. His later lack of morals made him even more dangerous physically.

But it's a bit more complicated than that because his world was more like ours than the DCU.

Prime is how the real world sees Superman,super over the top powerful,and Superman was from the actual DCU,which has in story or in universe limits,that's why Prime has no limits,and Superman does.
