probably a bad Clark Kent idea

Couldn't DC have a Superman/Clark origin story where Superman makes a bold appearance to Metropolis by crashing a spaceship onto a press conference? A Martian/ robot/hologram/whatever is piloting it and disguised as a badly injured - disfigured - person. He barely manages to ask for help and states that while stripped of his powers, a weapon used against him damaged his genetic code. Touch that control pad and a sample of your genetic code will be taken and it will heal him. Any genes that are compatible will be copied onto his genetic template and the medical systems will then be able to heal him. Most bipedal races in the galaxy are compatible but none are in range. Even Mars is too far. He warns that his new appearance might be an exact duplicate if the genetic damage is bad enough. He points to Clark, saying his medical systems identifies him as the best match in this crowd. Best, the outer appearance is similar to what he had before the attack. Clark steps up to the job and the alien is surrounded by an energy field and slowly takes on the appearance of Clark Kent. Identical. From then on, nobody asks any stupid questions about why Clark Kent looks like superman.
