Usually I wouldn’t bother to create new topic for this, but my girlfriend can be quite persuasive (and stubborn). So, behold:
Superman
Character » Superman appears in 18939 issues.
Sent to Earth as an infant from the dying planet Krypton, Kal-El was adopted by the loving Kent family and raised in America's heartland as Clark Kent. Using his immense solar-fueled powers, he became Superman to defend mankind against all manner of threats while championing truth, justice, and the American way!
MoS from a Child’s Perspective.
This scene was very powerful
Yep, MoS is very polarizing movie, but “first flight” scene is usually approved by everyone.
For full video you can go directly on Youtube, there was some bug while creating link to this video.

Probably because it is the first scene that Superman seemed happy :-P

@sanohibiki: First flight is great!
Then he flies into 25 different corporate sponsors. Sears of Steel was not my favorite movie
Kid's a cutey pie though.

You could argue that the daily planet scene at the end is a happy one too...

That scene should never have been in the film tho

Out of curiosity, why?

It took away from whatever depth they wanted to give Superman killing Zod. That scene should have happened in MoS 2.

If he didn't have that scene, you can bet almost nobody would have forgiven him for it. One of the main (imo incorrect) complaints is that there was too much "Kal-El" and wasn't enough "Clark"

It was the few non-dour scenes in the movie, and one of the few scenes that had some sense of wonder and awe. Something movies lack these days. Though I am not really crazy about the scene, but it was refreshing, even though it felt tonally out of place in the dreary world Snyder created.
Wait until his brain develops. He will likely a different opinion of the film.
I bet the guys that grew up dedicated with Adam West's Batman's thought the same thing when Burton's Batman hit theaters. How'd that work out?

Well yeah, that was a different take on the character from what the previous generation was used to. Man of Steel wasn't bad for that reason, it was bad because the script was kind of terrible and shallow.

I did that too, in the movie theater, surrounded by people.
I'm 22.
Did that too – when watched MOS second time, (whispering) in midnight, in hoody, when there were only about a dozen of people in theatre. After a month I will be 25 years old.

I saw it more like “Got punched/kicked through several building by Zod”.
And because of that level of cuteness I was forced to make this topic.

Also he looked happy, when after learning his origins Clark returned home (scene where he reunited with his mom).

First impression is powerful thing. And who knows, maybe MoS always will be his favorite SM movie or maybe, when he would grow up, he wouldn’t like comics at all.
GUYS, PLEASE, DON’T MAKE IT INTO YET ANOTHER "MOS: PRO AND CON" THREAD.

But it's stupid, it takes away all the gravity of the whole neck snap scene. He's like "I killed NOOOOOOOOOOOO.... actually never mind, I have a job now"
@jonny_anonymous: the only part that should be removed and destroyed is that FRAKING he's hot scene it's dumb crap and completely killed the oh god poor superman moment I had after he broke Zod's neck

How does an under-the-breath comment about Clark's looks take away from the sympathy you felt toward Superman having to make a tough decision?
@z3ro180: chill out man, go outside take a deep breath and know that life is silly all over.

My issue with the complaints about this is the following: If it was Wonder Woman, and a male soldier said "She's Hot", nobody would bat an eyelash, but a female soldier saying it about a male hero, and suddenly people lose their minds.
Its a weirdly progressive thing, to show a woman objectifying a man and being concerned with a man's looks, the same way that a man may do that to a woman. I liked it, because it was meant to lighten the mood a bit, and seemed natural/realistic.
@deaditegonzo: it's not the fact that she said he's hot it has to do with when and where they placed the scene.
