But during Lobdell's run on "Superman" who is the narrator? At times it seems like it's Clark himself but other times it feels like it is some unknown omniscient story-teller.

Not 100% sure but I've heard he does that (the OST) with all his titles.

I think the Yellow panels at the beginning are from an omniscient narrator and the blue ones from Superman.
BUT THE REAL QUESTION IS....why do you still read Superman?

What about the one shot he's writing with Soule and Pak? That'll have his influence somewhere which is never a good thing.

And basically it's like the all seeing narrator in the old 60s comics. There's a lot of Silver Age influence in Lobdell's writing including the thought bubbles and the all seeing narrator. It's a general narrator rather than a character narrating their emotions and thoughts on the events in the story.

Well, the one shot has a chance to be readable because of the involvement of Pak and Soule while his issues are...his.
Fan fact: Lobdell did the fastest retcon in the history of comics, he took the powers hegave to Lois and he will give her again powers in 3 issues.

@squalleon: Gah I know, how can one guy go back on his decisions so quickly? And what's the point of it anyway? He'll be gone in May so what's the purpose of giving Lois her stupid Brainiac psionic powers again for one issue? It's farcical as per usual of Lobdell's writing.

I think it will have a big effect on her one shot.

Or if the one shot comes first, her powers will come back in it? Something like that.
