Man of Steel is just over a year away from hitting theaters and audiences are itching for news and anxiously awaiting the teaser trailer in front of The Dark Knight Rises on July 20, 2012. But shockingly, there has been no announcements about a video game tie-in. Fans and gamers have been wanting a good Superman game for years now and have mostly been disappointed with the results.

    http://www.movies.com/movie-news/man-of-steel-video-game/8151

However there would be no video game tie in. This would not come as a surprise since WB have said that the Green Lantern tie in, although sold better and was critically rated better than all the other summer flick last year (thor , captain america) ultimately did not do as well as Arkham Asylum and Arkham City. So WB has decided to move away from movie tie ins and produce actual games that coincide with the release like Arkham City, Batman Lego, Batman City Imposters all of which paid off pretty well.

Another great reason to go and see DKR!

shame there's not gonna be a game for man of steel though, Batman gets to many games and I can't see them making a comic-based Superman game any time soon.

@htb106: I believe we would be getting news of a Superman game by the end of this year. WB would be producing some Superman games before the release to promote MOS. Or if they really trust in the project, they'll be producing a game that'll release after MOS to promote the sequel. But I'm pretty sure we'll get to see a Superman game next year, it'll just have nothing to do with MOS.

I'm fine with the fact that MOS won't have a game. If we're getting a Superman game, I'd want it to be its own thing, like what Arkham Asylum was. Movie games are almost always garbage.

I know. Me too. I'm also excited for a Superman animated series. I'm hoping we could get it in CG and produced by Bruce Timm. After GLTAS, I'm more than convinced that going CG is the way to go. In 2005-2006 DC released Krypto the superdog to tie in to Superman and 2006 theres Superman and the legion of superheroes to for 2 seasons to tie in with Superman Returns also.

So I can't wait to see what WB has up their sleeves for a Superman animated series, but that'll probably air in 2014 though.

@sethysquare: I've only seen the pilot for GL. I'm not on board with the CGI. It's a turn-off for me. Traditional animation just looks better, like in Young Justice. To me, anyway.

@KainScion: They received about the same score critically and were both selling averagely. Neither scored very well with the critiques, but sales was sufficient enough for GL, not sure about Captain America. Thor sucked very very badly though.

@Gambit1024: It is true though. Movie game always sucked. GL one just did better than every other movie tie in. But it still did averagely.

Honestly, you should check out the whole series for GL when the DVD is out. The graphics is amazing and the storyline is way better than young justice. Or borrow it from a friend if they buy it. The first 13 episodes will change your mind.

@KainScion: That's why I said most, and not all :P

That, and Spider-Man 2 were great. The Incredible Hulk was fun, but it's just a better-graphic version of Hulk: Ultimate Destruction.

Interesting news. I've been waiting for a teaser trailer for Man of Steel. At least the release of the TDKR will mean it'll be available online to watch.

@sethysquare: Of course I'll watch TDKR. I'll just watch the Superman teaser trailer online before I see TDKR. I can't wait that long to see it. And I was more excited for the Avengers than I am for TDKR. I haven't been blown away by Nolan's Batman films but they are good. I'll wait and see what the final installment has to offer.

FINALLY!!! they get it. Tie-ins are rearly good and are considered cheap capitalization on the movies they are tied to. I remember playing Ironman, it was such a disappointment.

    +1 for DC!

I doubt people could tell a difference though. I tried showing alot of my friends the new 52 costume and asked them to point out the difference, they took a pretty long time to point out that theres no underwear.
